Hello! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! For my friends that don't live in the U.S. I hope you had a lovely couple of days as well!
We spent Thanksgiving with just the four of us. It has been quite a while since we had a small Thanksgiving celebration. I tried to scale back on the food, it was hard though. There are just some things I feel I HAVE to have for Thanksgiving. Mostly vegetable dishes, which sucks when it's just us because my hubby doesn't do veggies, my daughter only likes some, and my son is hit or miss. I had to leave out the green bean casserole and candied yams. Those are things that only I will eat so they didn't make the cut.
I spent the morning in the kitchen getting all the food ready and I was pleased that everything all came out about the same time. Everyone sat down to eat and within 15-20 minutes it was all over.....except the dishes. I worked my butt off and it was over in a flash! Oh well. I guess that's part of the job. The rest of the day was pretty low key. My son hasn't been feeling well so he ended up sleeping most of the afternoon. The rest of us played "upwards" for a while then CCB went to watch some football. We finished off the night with the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special and Star Wars episode IV. (I have yet to stay awake through a whole Star Wars movie!)
What sort of things do you HAVE to have at your family celebrations?

WE had turkey, dressing, gravy, green bean cassarole, sweet potato dish, cranberry sauce, rolls and drinks. Of course there was pumpkin pie and Barbara made 2 cherry cheese cakes. Everyone was pleasantly stuffed. We had a great time talking and taking pictures.
Oh my, don't even talk about the clean up. I could do without that please!
I love you sis.
I watched the movie Man on Fire and then
before eating, my dad, sister and I started putting together a TV stand. After eating, we finished putting the stand and two bookshelves together and I took a nap. Finished my day off with a couple of phone calls and watched Stealth. Nice being able to spend time with family and not being bugged by teachers.
I have to have homemade stuffing! That is a must for all thanksgiving dinners hehe. Stuffing is my favorite left over!
Your Thanksgiving sounds good.
We usually just do drugs and alcohol at our family celebrations..
Meat....lots of meat....a must have at any of our get-togethers. Plus, broccoli casserole and potato salad. I am still so full I may never eat again...at least for a couple of days;)
