Don't answer that!
In the last two days I have been treated like an idiot by two different people and I have no clue why. Pull up a chair and I'll tell you about it.
The first one was at Home Depot (the happiest place on earth!) My husband and I got separated and my daughter came to find me. (OK maybe I got separated.) Anyway. I took my little package of screws ( I had to fix a ceiling fan.) To the cashier in the garden center. I walked around the corner and she was standing there with an address book or something like it opened in front of her on the counter. It looked as though she was going through her purse or something as there were several personal items laid out. So I thought it was prudent to ask if she was open. Maybe she hadn't started her shift after all. Or maybe she had already put in her time. Who knows? I thought I was being thoughtful instead of just dumping my stuff on the counter. My question was met with a fixed stare and a painfully drawn out,"Yesssssssss". She talked to me like I was retarded or something! So I replied with the same drawn out style," Wellll thennnn cannnn you scannnnnn thisssssss? She ticked me off I tell you! What was with the attitude?
The next one came from a friend of the previous owner of my new home. At closing the old owner asked if we could call her so she could pick up any of her mail that doesn't get forwarded. We agreed and she gave us her phone number. We explained that we wouldn't have a phone for a week or so so we didn't have a number to give her. My husband called from work a couple of days after we closed on the house to tell her the mail was in. She never came by. So I called again on Sunday evening. Monday afternoon there was a knock at the door and her friend introduced herself to me and said that the old owner sent her to get her mail. "Ok, just a second and I'll grab it for you." I replied. Then she launches into this spiel about how we didn't leave a number for the old owner to call us. I said that I knew I didn't leave a number but I can't speak for my husband. That is when she reiterated that we didn't leave a number for Tiffanie to call us back at. Her tone was snotty I tell you!
I guess you should know something about me before we carry on. I HATE it when people beat around the bush. Just say what you want and be done with it! Don't try to lead me to give you what you want. Just ask!
I'll be darned if I'm gonna offer up any more explanations to her now! I had a cell number to give her (tracfone remember?) but I wasn't gonna give it now! We never asked her to call us. We just told her her mail was here. She could come pick it up when ever she wanted! We aren't picky! She knew we didn't have a number at closing! We were unpacking for heaven's sake! Where did she think we'd be? ARG! I don't want anyone telling me maybe she was trying to be polite and call first. I thought of that too. After dealing with her snotty friend I don't want to give out any excuses. We were doing her a favor and I didn't deserve to have attitude shot at me on MY own front porch!
Whew!!! I think I have to go soak my "fingers of fury" now. There is smoke coming off the key board.
I hope you all have a lovely day!

Take a deep breath and breath in and then out...The lady that picked up her mail was probably just upset about something and you were the first one she spoke to. Don't take it personally. She should have been nicer but she wasn't. You will run across people like that, so don't fret.
The girl at the Home Depot was just rude.
Hang in there girl.
the prerequisite to work at Home Depot is that you have to be partially retarded or incompetent, either works. And they all hate their jobs and have no trouble letting you know about it. My dad ended up climbing like a monkey up the shelves last week and dropping a box of toilet fixtures to the ground so that he could get two out b/c the ass that he asked to help him was such a freakin nimrod!
My policy - prepare yourself before you walk into that store to just stay calm and be ready for the idiots you will, without a doubt, encounter!
Would it be possible to stop by and pick up my mail too?
You don't have to look, act or talk stupid to have people treat you that way---but isn't it a pissoff?
well i am 6o years old and i have learned not to do favors for people. they come to you begging for help and say no one else is willing to help them. then you go out of your way to do them a favor and in the end most of them get mad at you. that's crazy but it is true.
