Happy Monday!

How can it be Monday already? The weekend just seemed to fly by. We didn't do anything exciting around my place last weekend. CCB had to work all day on Saturday so the kids and I just sort of hung out. I made some Pizzelle cookies. They are my favorite! Not to sweet and nice and crispy. I picked up a copy of Chicken Little for the kids on Friday so that was burnin up the DVD player all day. My daughter absorbs every tiny bit of the movie and my son, well, he may not watch the whole movie but we can't turn it off. It has to be playing nonstop. He will be in a different room but if you shut it off he comes runnin'!

I also decided to rake up the leaves on the side of the house. I have been afraid to run the mower over there because there are so many leaves and twigs I was sure I'd damage my blade. So I started raking up the leaves to discover they were deeper than I thought. I don't know when the last time this part of the lawn had any attention (years?) but it was going to be more work than I bargained for. Shortly after beginning I found a snakes skin. It was small but all I could think about was the reason they shed their skin, because they are growing! I wished that I would have worn more appropriate clothes to do this job. Somehow the capri's and ankle socks just didn't seem to be enough. Did I go and change? Heck no. That would have stopped my momentum! I raked the leaves into 5 piles. Yesterday my husband and I started to bag them up. You didn't think I was going to do that by myself with a snake on the loose did you? We filled five bags and got rid of 2 of the 5 piles. TWO! I can't wait till it's all cleaned up cuz it's just a happy hunting ground for spiders and creepy crawlies.

We ordered Papa Johns Perfect Pan Pizza for dinner. CCB doesn't like me to have to cook on Sunday. What a sweetie he is. I can tell you I am a big bread fan and this is quite possibly the most perfect pan crust EVER! No one in my family like veggies on their pizza but me so I go with the flow but the spicy Italian pizza is tasty! Guess which left overs I'm having for lunch today! Sorry for the commercial I just wanted to share a new favorite. We played outside with the kids till just past dark which is probably too long for my daughter. She was quite unnerved by the bugs.

This does look a little creepy when you see it flying around with it's big ol legs hanging under it. Posted by Picasa

After we put the kids to bed CCB and I watched that old movie Heathers. If you haven't seen it it's a twisted high school movie about society and cliques. I enjoyed our "couple time" very much. I'm learning to carve out little bits here and there so I don't go stark raving mad. It's more important than I ever realized.

I hope you had a great weekend out there in blog land! Happy Monday to you!

Happy Monday to you too. We had a lovely weekend (I didn't have to cook once!) and we're celebrating our anniversary again tonight, just because :)

How do you make pizzelle cookies? They sound gorgeous.

the combination of pizza-lover, coupletime lover and watcher of my 2nd favourite movie makes me give you a rousing 5 brown-noser points out of 5!

It's funny b/c before i even start the yard work I get almost bundled up. I am a FREAK about bugs and any other creepy crawly things! I wear tall socks, tall shoes, long sweatpants, gloves, long sleeved shirt, hair back! I am a freak...

I have never been a fan of Papa John's pizza. I'll take your word on the deep dish or whatever it was that you got.

I've seen Heather's many times. It's great. It's so twisted! TSO and i love it. And I agree with you. I think that no matter what happens in your life you have to make time for each other. I hope that we can make that happen even when we have children like you and CCB!
