Thanks are in order!

I need to start my post by telling you all thank you. I had a crappy beginning to my day and you all made me feel a little better.

When my daughter and I had finished dinner I talked with her. I explained that I was concerned about her and that if she needed to talk to me I would be there. She said she was fine and offered to come out of her room more often and not hide out. I explained that there was no problem too big or too small that we could not deal with she just needed to talk to me. No problems were addressed last night but I can tell you she smothered me with affection all night. When CCB got home I pitched the idea of the bowling party and he was onboard! What a fabulous idea Trinity Thank you!

Here is the plan on Saturday after we get our running around done. We will put my son down for his nap and my daughter and husband will go bowl a couple of games to check out the alley. We are new here and have never been there. They can pick up any info on party packages so we can decide how to attack this party. My husband dubbed it the Girl Power Bowling Hour. I'm excited about this and I hope it helps her a little!

I hope I didn't bore you all to tears. I just figured I would give you a little update since you all took the time to cheer me up yesterday.

On a related note. My next door neighbor came over yesterday and invited me to go shopping with her! It's the first person to show any sort of interest in me since we moved here. We've chatted a few times in our front yards but that's been it. I felt awful having to turn her down. (My car seat was in the car my husband took to work.) I don't want to discourage her from asking again later so I think I'm gonna bake some cookies today and take them over. Is that lame? I don't want to seem creepy or anything.

Have a lovely Thursday!

Actually, I think the cookie thing is really endearing. Glad to hear you had such positive results last night. Moving is hard on the whole family, but as long as she's got you looking out for her, I think things will be fine.

I wish one of my neighbors WOULD bring me cookies. It reminds me of the old days when neighbors were truly neighborly. :)

I think when someone takes the time to bake something "home made", it shows that they care. Go ahead and make those cookies and maybe set a date sometime next week to go shopping.

It's good that you had a talk with your daughter. You let her know that you care about her and all that can do is help.

I hope the bowling party turns out good.

oh my god, I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter is a little down. She sounds very sensitive and sweet! I think the bowling party (and the going out to check the alley out with dad) sounds wonderful! that is such a great idea. Everyone loves a bowling party!!

The neighbor sounds wonderful and I think baking cookies is such a great idea! When i was younger, any time a new neighbor moved into the hood my mom and I would bake them something. Ther is just something comforting about sharing food with people that you like or would like to get to know better. I say bake the cookies for sure!! You are so sweet OGO!
