Whaddaya think?

There is a 9-11 movie coming out. The trailers for it alone make me cry. I remember the horror of that day. I put myself in their shoes and I imagine what I would feel if I was in their place, taking the phone call from my husband on a doomed plane. Or if it was me sitting in the seats contemplating my options. (I can't help it!)

I'm really interested in what you think about this movie.
Is it about time for a movie to be made?
Is it too soon?
Should it be made at all?
What do you think?
Will you watch it?

I don't think the movie is coming out to soon. They got a lot of feedback from the family members of the victoms...and they still have it pretty fresh in their mind.

I'm not sure if we are going to see it, but I'm glad there are no big-star actors in the film. That way they can focus on the story itself and not on the money that a known actor would bring in.

Plus, I think it would help us Americans remember what we went through and how we felt afterwards. Maybe it would unify us as a country again.

I'll see it. There's another one coming out in the summer/fall about the last firefighters that got out of the towers alive. I think there's been enough time. You can't foget about it, so it's good to see sotries about the heros. And as long as some profits go towards the victims or something.

I think the Discovery Channel did a special on the same subject and I think that was sufficient. I don't think a whole movie is necessary unless the money made from it goes directly to the families of the people that were killed on the plane. I don't think that's the case.

I have no intentions of paying money to see this movie. I know the reality of it and I'm not minimizing it. The Sweet one works in the capitol and that's where that plane was apparently headed BUT, I don't need to watch the movie to make myself sad and cry for 2 hours straight. There's too much sadness as it is. I will just keep thinking about it over and over and make myself even sadder...

I don't think enough time has passed. I do not want to see it at all.

There have always been movies about crises in our lives---at least since movies were invented--think of the war movies, disaster movies, Hotel Rwanda, etc. On the other hand, I don't think movies have to be anything other than entertainment, and I don't think that movie will entertain me. Like you, I find it too easiy to put myself in the place of the participants, and I don't need that uncomfortable feeling.

I think Hollywood will only scew it up. I think just knowing what they did should be enough.

I don't think they can really portray the events of that day and do them any justice, until the truth finally comes out about what really happened that day.
