What?! You knew I was a freak when you came here!

For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know that last Christmas was hectic and crazy. Frankly it pretty much sucked. We had made plans to move to a larger apartment to wait out the rest of my husbands training. We were to move to the new place 2 weeks before Christmas (it was the end of our lease). Shortly after we gave our notice they offered CCB a promotion. He would start working in Louisiana at the beginning of the new year. We were stuck. We couldn't stay at the current place because they had already found new renters. We had to move to the bigger place and wait 2 weeks to move to Louisiana.

Because of all the moving we decided not to decorate for Christmas. It was a pain in the tush on a regular Christmas with all of our stuff in a storage unit but it was even worse last year. I felt horrible for not doing everything up for Christmas. We didn't even get to play with all our toys on Christmas. If it had lots of parts it was left in the box for the moving men to pack up.

This year I decided I'm gonna make up for that lost Christmas. I have a tree in the front room. The one pictured here. It's just a fru fru tree. I need to expand that little village there, it looks kinda sad. I have one in the family room (the first picture). That one has the sentimental ornaments on it. Things my daughter made etc... I put my oldest tree (my first tree on my own) in my daughters room for her to decorate.

I've put out all my indoor decorations now I'm working on the outside. I'm doin' it up this year! I didn't realize how much Christmas crap er....stuff we had accumulated. I haven't seen a lot of this stuff in years because it didn't fit in the apartment. It's like pre-Christmas! I don't know that this is something I'll do every year as it's a lot of work but that motherly guilt is driving me this year!

I love to start Christmas---it's the taking it all down that makes me grumpy.

I started decorating tonight. Not to the extent YOU'VE decorated (that's mighty impressive, btw), but it's a start nonetheless. We're only going to have one tree, though. :-)

Good for you!!! I'm sure the kiddies will LOVE it! I hope you have a much better holiday this year! You deserve it.

Shane notices weird things in pictures...but yeah, I wondered if your floor was brick too.

You are awesome! Three trees!
No humbug for you!

Oh great One said...

Anonymousgrrl-I should have answered Shane here instead of instant messenger. Yes it is a brick floor. It's a bit of a pain to clean (because of the spaces between the bricks where the morter is) but it feels so nice and cool in the summer time!

Suh-weet! You do realize that if you leave Christmas ornaments and decorations in a dark space the results are increases in numbers right? They're like teenagers, never leave them alone in the dark!!

I love the Christmas season. The music, the smells, the lights and trees...it's most definitely my favorite time of the year. I put up our tree and most decoration prior to me leaving for Vegas, but I should hopefully be able to finish this weekend. Looks like you've done a nice job getting things set up!

I like all your trees, with the first one being my favorite. I haven't even thought about decorating yet, but that cold front we had yesterday did get me in the mood. I suppose you are experiencing the cold weather now. We try to decorate our tree when all the kids are around. I make fresh ginger bread cookies, we drink eggnog and make a Christmas toast. It has become a tradition now, that the kids are grown. JJ, our grandson, likes helping Peapaw decorate the tree. We'll have to see what it is like this year since Jocelyne is 16 months old now.

Glad you are having a good time decorating.
