It feels like it's been so long since I've been here! Let's see what I've got for you...
Saturday my sweet CCB called me to tell me he was leaving early but that he was stopping off to pick up some stuff for my stocking. I was surprised he got to leave early. He said he cleared it with his boss, and that's when he told me that the boss was surprised he came in at all on Saturday. You see all the other managers took the day off. This peter head didn't tell CCB he could have the day off! He could have had a much needed 3 day weekend! It took me a while to shake the anger from that. CCB let it go fairly easily. I felt like he'd been done wrong and it got my knickers all twisted!
Christmas was lovely. We were up before the kids. We have the kids wait in their rooms until everyone is up. (Everyone pretty much means my baby boy.) So I woke up early in order to keep my promise. Both of the kids were still sleeping! CCB and I had to wait for them! It was nice though, we got the video camera all ready, I got a cup of coffee, and a little slow dance with CCB to Christmas music before all the excitement began.
I've got a question for you. My children each received gift cards for Christmas. On each of them was a sticker that read,"Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday" on them. My sons birthday is in Feb. And my daughters birthday is in May. Am I the only one that finds this tacky? I guess I should just be happy they remembered them at all right? Even though they have essentially washed their hands of my children for a whole year. If it wasn't from their grandparents I probably wouldn't mind. Long story. We'll save that for another day.
CCB's back at work. I've got most of my Christmas crap taken down inside the house. Except for the trees and the Christmas village. I think I'm going to leave one up for midnight toasts by Christmas lights for New years eve.
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas. What is your favorite memory from this Christmas?

Grrr it narks me so much when people merge Christmas and Birthdays. Even if your birthday is on Christmas Day you should get separate presents, I'd be livid if anyone did that, let alone my mum.
I think what I'll remember most about this Christmas is that there's not much to remember, it was just so relaxed and chilled for probably the last ever time.
For one of her birthdays, my daughter got a card from my mother that said,"have a lonely birthday and a lonely life". We tried to believe her when she said she meant "lovely"
I love when your knickers get all twisted! And you nip.......
Never mind!
It's incredibly tacky. It's weird that someone would merge the two with their birthdays not being near Christmas, though - normally it's Christmas babies who get the stupid merger thing. The only thing I'd recommend is doing the same thing for them if you send them Christmas/birthday gifts. People don't normally realize how tacky it is until it happens to them.
I had a friend in high school who would get birthday/Christmas presents because her birthday was December 26 and so everyone who merged the two for her would get merged presents from her family. People stopped doing it because they were like, "This SUCKS!" when they realized they were getting screwed out of a birthday present.
My bd is in Jan and I would sometimes get jipped out of a birthday present by someone combining it with Christmas.
Of course now that I'm older, I sometimes push for a larger gift saying, "you can consider this my Christmas and birthday gift..."
I guess I turned the tacky around on myself with that one...
I think that was really tacky..
Glad the rest of your Christmas was nice though..
Jason's grandparents merge his gift too - they're older, and it makes it easier for them.
I think even your 2 day weekend is luxurious - Jason closed the store on Christmas Even and opened it on Boxing Day.

A gift is a gift. It is hard to understand other people's motivation. I say just say thank you and have the kids write thank you notes. Who knows. by the time the birthdays come around the old folks may have forgotten and will send another gift.Ha on them.
My best Christmas memory? Being.
Merging the gifts is kind of tacky, but at least they got a gift. I would use those gift cards as soon as possible. Most cards have a fee they charge each month. I found out the hard way that WalMart has a $ 1.00 a month fee on their cards. By the time I went to use it, it was gone....
Too bad CCB didn't know that he could have taken Sat. off.
My best memory of Christmas was just having my family all here....
Soooo tacky!!! Lucky me has a bd June...exactly six months from xmass so I never get the 1gift for 2 seperate occasions. Sure its the thought that counts, but yeah, if it ever happened to me I'd be super pissed. And Pizzaslinger would be let loose to avenge me!
I don't know if I have a favorite moment , aside from Mom telling me she was "surprised" I could cook a turkey so well. I guess having Mom and me celebrate together.
