When we moved into our new home almost a year ago we found that we could only get one channel on our television. So for the first time since we've been together CCB and I had to spring for cable. We've had cable before but we didn't have to pay. SHHH! Don't tell! I could never justify spending the money. I thought we spent too much time watching t.v. as it was, I couldn't imagine what would happen with a billion more channels to choose from. We settled for basic as a comprise. I droned on about all that to get to my topic for today, DVR. It came with our service and quite frankly I don't know how we lived with out it! What? You got interrupted by a crying child? Just rewind the show! HUH? Someone spilled Kool aid on your carpet? Just pause the tv and come back to it when it's all cleaned up!
I've found myself thinking of other places DVR would be handy. Here's a few.
1.The radio. I don't know how many times I'm listening to the morning show and when I come back from the bathroom the DJ's are laughing and I missed the joke.
2. While driving. If I could just rewind the trip a little, I could use my horn instead of just yelling at the person who nearly side swiped me! I always forget the horn. Always.
3. While cooking. I would love to be able to just put things on pause for a little bit. Sometimes CCB's commute takes a little longer than usual and dinner starts to cool. I want him to have it while it's at it's apex of heat and flavor!
4. For my children. I would love to be able to hit the pause button to stop my daughter from spilling that whole glass of milk on the floor. Oh to be able to rewind my son just before he hits his head.
I'm sure you could come up with plenty of ideas yourselves. They are probably gonna be more clever than mine, so feel free to add some if you have them.
The week is almost over!

Oh I do love my TiVo. Sometimes I find myself trying to rewind my TV at work or in rooms that don't have DVR's and I'm all...DOH! I wish my whole life was run with a DVR. It would make things so much easier!
OH and I have Sirius Radio and you can Pause that too. It's wonderful!!
DVR, oh how I covet thee
I don't have TiVo or DVR on our TV, it's too fancy for me. The only thing I can think of is that it would be nice to click off my bladder as I'm running to the bathroom....At my age, things are a little different.
vacations!!! And days off of work...wish I could slow or rewind these!
It would be nice to pause sleep. Although if it was paused it probably wouldn't really make me less tired.
Perhaps rewind sleep would be better. Except I already would have had it so who knows..
The only ones I can think of right now are all X-rated. I'll post again if I think of anything clean!
I can't even afford DVR in my dreams...

I've ALWAYS wanted a Tivo or DVR for life.
For those times I trip and fall in front of a large group of people? I'd like to rewind and walk by again.
For the time I completely forget to do something important at work, I could rewind and get it done and not flip out about not doing it before.
For those moments in life that seem so surreal, you just don't want them to end, I'd like to pause so I could take it in an enjoy it all.
