The great bed swap.

We all switched beds this weekend, and we're all out of whack. I still wake up wondering where CCB is only to find that he's still there just farther away. My daughter went from a twin to a full and now she has issues with pillows. There are two now instead of one. She slept a little better last night. My son has had the biggest change and he's taking it like a champ. He's in a BIG BOY BED! He's having a little trouble drifting off in his new bed but no issues other than that.

CCB suggested that we just put the crib out on the curb for the trash men to take away or even any trash pickers. I just can't do it yet. Both my children slept in that bed. I can't give it up yet. When we do I think I'll donate it to Goodwill. I'm such a sap I know. There are just certain items I can't part with. When we moved into this house I made a pact not to hang on to crap we don't need. I fully intend to stick to it. I just need to wait on this item a little longer.

What a lame Monday post. Sorry that's all I got.

New beds---they hold out such promise, don't they? I remember buying a brass bed for Chris, and finding after heèd kicked it a couple of times that it was an iron bed with a brassy finish. Didn't change the way he slept though---he still kept us awake just breathing. We're planning on going to a double Murphy Bed when we move into our new condo---still a year to go, though. We still have our old waterbed frame with a roll of foam to deal with the additional 6 inches they used to have. It's the only bed we've ever had---and we only got it because a water bed seemed more sophisticated than foam on the floor, with an Indian bedspread....

I'm the worst at holding on to junk we don't need. I have made a pact with my hubby too that I will try to throw/give things away more often. It's really hard!

I had a hard time getting rid of the first blanket I ever masturbated into...so I know what you're going through. ;)

How fun, new beds for everyone! A big boy bed, what a big step. I need a new bed very badly.

It seems such a shame to let the crib go to trash, I for one would love it but you're a bit far away for me to collect it! Have you thought about freecycling it when the time comes? See http://freecycle.org and click for local groups. I've got rid of (and got) loads of stuff that way.

I'm a hanger on-er too...but donating the crib sounds like the nicest thing you could do...happy Monday!

donate it so you can write it off at the end of the year.
