My morning started out with aggravation. I hope it gets better from there. On school mornings I get up and get my daughters breakfast and get her out the door at 7:07. She has to meet the bus on the corner and since she has been the only kid having to wait at the intersection I always go with her. The chatty neighbor that has been coming down with her nephew didn't come to the bus stop today. She just sent him. No problem there. We went out at the regular time and waited. And WAITED. We were out there for nearly 45 minutes with no sign of the bus. I went back inside to call the school and see if he was having troubles with the bus or something. You know what they told me? He had already come in with his bus. YEAH! He came by my house before 7:07 this morning! School doesn't start until 7:50am. There is only one other little girl that he picks up after my daughter. She lives like 3 houses from the corner we have to wait at. What in the world was he doing coming by so early? Those kids had to wait on the playground for freakin' ever! He has bee very inconsistant in his pick up times. We go out at the same time every day. Sometimes we wait for 5 minutes sometimes we wait for 25 minutes. This is the first time he's ever come THAT early. RRRRRRRRR!
SO....I had to wake up my 3 year old and throw him in the car before he could even hold his eyes open so I could get my daughter to school. I took the neighbor boy too since his aunt was not home. I hope she's ok with that. If I didn't take him he'd have had to go home and I don't know if he would have ever gotten to school. It's kind of an sticky situation you know? I wouldn't want someone taking my kid unless I knew them pretty well. I have a feeling it will be ok.
Oh and since I'm complaining, I slept like crap last night.
Ok. Ok. I can't leave on a crabby note. I had some fantastic Chinese food last night. My lips had quite a pleasant burny sensation when I was done. There that's better.
Update! The bus driver told the kids that he missed this morning that they'd just have to get out there earlier! We've been going out at the same time every day for the whole school year and now we're supposed to change our routine. I called the school and they said I had to talk to him first. Oh I will. I will.

I'll join the bitching. I sleep at my mom's every other Sunday so she can watch the baby on Monday. Last night Kym stayed home and I went with the baby and instead of her normal 7am wakeup she woke up at 5:30. She peed through all her clothes and blankets and crib. I do that all the time and I keep on sleeping! What's wrong with kids these days!?!
eww, that is a yucky way to start a Monday, I hope the rest of the week gets better for you!
My mom used to be a bus driver (when she lived in FL) and they had to be at their stops at the SAME time every day! How is this guy able to come when he pleases?! I even remember how if my mom was running early she'd have to pull off somewhere and wait until it was the right time to pick kids up. Running late is different, because some things you can't help (like traffic accidents) but getting there early is unacceptable to me.
Have you called the bus company to complain about him?
ummm chinese burning sensation...yum!! I love spicy food...I'm eating as much of that as I can before the heartburn begins!
I'm sorry your Monday is sucky...kids will be out of school soon!
Tim-Kids just don't know how easy they've got it these days!
Funky Bee- It was yucky. I even have a headache now!
Bekah-It doesn't make me mad when he's late because I know things happen but early is annoying! I called the schools office and they told me I have to talk to him first.
So the school bus driver is sending out his new schedules by telepathy these days? That's a novel approach.
Mmmmmm chinese food, yum!
That sucks about the bus - I remember spending oodles of time waiting out in the freezing canadian winter ... you'd think that driving a bus is not that hard a job.
Maybe your school district is similar to mine, the school itself is separate, there is a "Bus Barn" to call for bus/driver related issues. I would call either the school or the Educational Service Center and ask them for Transportation Services, perhaps they could lead you in the right direction.
I usually lurk but thought this might be helpful. That is infuriating.
Mrs. Thistletwat- I guess so. I'll have to dust off my psycho ablitlities!
Jay- We're fortunate not to have to stand in the snow.
Sheila- I'm glad you delurked! I think you might be right. The school really sort of washed their hands of it. I have to talk to the bus driver myself. Uncomfortable!
