Fight the Power!

Here is something that really irks me. Magazine renewals. I get them all the time for the magazines we subscribe to. Recently I sent off one of the renewals and checked the bill me later box. THEN I couldn't remember which magazine I had done that for since I had several renewals in my bill cubby for different magazines. So I decided to look it up online. You know what I found? These creeps send you renewal cards even when you are no where near the end of your subscription. For Better Homes and Gardens I was paid up till 2011! WHY do I need to renew? For Womans Day I was paid up till May of NEXT year! Why oh WHY are they sending me renewals? They just want my money! They think that they can confuse me into paying past retirement! They almost won. ALMOST. I'm on to you rutheless magazine people. I'm on to you.

2011? Holy crap...

I only subscribe to two magazines right now. I dunno when they expire, though. I always sign up for the "Pay only $12 for three years of magazines!" thing. I'm cheap and I like it!

One can stand back in awe from all the ways people are trying to slip their hands up our financial skirts.

I usually wait until I get the "your last issue will be delivered on (date)" notice before I send in a renewal. I have also learned the hard way that they send these things no matter if you need to renew or not!
