I did not want the weekend to end! It was a bit of a rocky start but it was lovely. We decided that since my sweet CCB had Friday off it would be the perfect day to take the car in to get the window fixed. I figured fifty bucks and an hour or so and it would be ready to rock. Boy was I wrong. Fifty bucks was some sort of delusional dream. Hour or so? Try more than 7. I don't know exactly what time they finished up because we left for our date. We went in and paid the 336.00 and told them to park it around front of the shop for us to pick up when we returned to town. I was a little stressed out by the fact we had to drop more than 3 hundred dollars for that stupid window so CCB had his work cut out for him getting me to relax and enjoy our date. It didn't take long.
We opted to forgo the usual movie and dinner route. We rarely get any quiet time to enjoy each others company without children's interruptions so the idea of sitting quietly in a theater didn't appeal to me. Instead we sorta meandered through our day. We started with a trip to a book store. Fun huh?! We sipped our grossly overpriced coffee drinks and perused the books without interruption. That NEVER happens when we take the kids. My son KNOWS there is a Thomas the train set in the children's section so we end up taking turns browsing and watching him. This time we never even stepped foot in the children's section! It was bliss.
We wandered the mall and a couple of other stores after that before going to a Mexican restaurant for a scrumptious meal. We ate and conversed like adults! I didn't need to cut up any ones food, wipe any mouths, or tell anyone to be polite and wait their turn to talk. AHHH!
I love my children to death but sometimes a break is just what the doctor ordered.
I hope you had a great weekend like I did!

They say that dating is the best way to stay married....
Yeah, I need one of those days with Martha...it's been a while...
That sounds like a dream right now.
I love you more with each passing day.
Wow, $300! That totally bites!
Yes dating is so necessary in marriage now. Also, sorry to hear about the window...
Sounds like bliss to me.
I find that too much of ANYONE...is just that...TOO MUCH. Sometimes you gotta take a break from even your most loved ones (it just helps)...glad you had such a great weekend.
Sounds like a wonderful day. I love my kids too, but I totally agree. . . there is something to be said for quiet time with your honey, not cutting up food for someone, not eatting your food when it is half cold, not having to scold anyone, etc., etc. etc. Good for you!
You are so wise to take those precious moments together.
Sucks about the window though - that's a lot of money for something that you probably don't really "enjoy"!
