I just got back from the doctors office. It seems I have lost 8 lbs! Woo hoo! It's only been 3 weeks and 2 days! Not that I'm counting or anything. My non fasting blood sugar was 110! ROCK ON! I am so very pleased!
She said the gaggy trouble I've been having could be acid reflux. She gave me a bunch of samples of nexium. She said that my stress could have amped up my stomach acid production. She said to take it for a month and give her a call to let her know how I'm feeling. Then in 2 months I have to go take the blood glucose test all over again. Joy.
The other thing she said was that the diet plan she had her nurse give me was just a "guideline". WHAT?! Someone should have told me that when they gave it to me. I came to the decision that I couldn't follow it as it was outlined myself. How much stress would have been avoided if I would have known it was a set of guidelines?! Maybe I'm just a big ole dork. Perhaps I should have known. I just knew that the doctor was telling me I was pre-diabetic and I needed to work on it now. I was gonna do my darnedest to follow her directions.
WHEW! Feeling pretty fantastic right now.

YAY! Good news all around!
Congrats on the weight loss, and the blood sugar level! Sounds like this was a successful Dr. visit!
Oh, btw....I'm back :)
I'm so glad to hear that things are on the upswing for you! Keep it up!:)
Excellent news! Sounds like you can allow yourself at least one sneaky cookie to reward yourself for all your hard work :)
What gives, OGO? Are you trying to lose weight? What's up with the doctor visits?
Sue- Yes it is good news!
TechyMike- I'm glad you're back!
Sprinkle- I'll do my best!
Mrs. T- I think I WILL get a cookie!
LBB- It's all because of that Pre-diabetes diagnosis remember?
Good news! You still need to follow her guidelines. If you were prediabetic before then you are predestined to it. Follow a sencable diet and keep up the exercise and you will probaby be fine.
Something else that will help with and acid stomach is ginger. TF is taking ginger tables that are chewable and he is doing great. Good luck with that.
Glad the boys had so much fun together. Now you see what it would be like to have then there all the time.....Lots of work!
Are you preparing for DEAN?
Yay, that's so great, really paying off for you! Keep up the good work.
: )
Hooray!
That is great. Good for you for being proactive. I know people who are told they are diabetic who still don't follow the "guidelines"
Yay - well done :)
