I'm starting to feel like my old self again. I can't tell you what a relief that is.....to my WHOLE family! It really made me feel sad to hear my son playing "sick" like mommy.
I've walked everyday since last Friday. I prefer to walk with CCB but he isn't always available. I can walk 2 miles in a half an hour with him as opposed to 1 mile in the same time with my neighbor.
My pants feel loose today. The scale hasn't changed though. Perhaps it's my imagination.
I wanna be like LBB and enjoy exercising. I'm trying!
Tallied my calorie count for yesterdays food. 848 calories. I did my best! I just didn't feel like eating any more than that. THEN the Today show say not to dip below 1000 calories or your body won't want to lose weight(or something like that). I was really hoping that all this sick tummy stuff would kick off the weight loss. ACK!
Anywho....Sorry for another health update. This has consumed me as of late.

I think it really depends on how much you weigh and how much you want to lose to determine the amount of calories you should be consuming. The problem with taking in too few calories is that your metabolism slows down, which is the exact opposite of what you're trying to accomplish.
Good luck with the exercising and weight loss though! I've been trying to exercise more lately, but haven't quite had enough motivation to do it as frequently as I should. It sounds like you're off to a good start. ;)
It's good that you're feeling better. Walking is supposed to be so good for you---I love to walk, but haven't adopted it as an exercise because once the weather starts to cool, I hate getting dressed in special "walking" clothes, so I go to a gym.
I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better:)! Now, could you kick some of that exercise motivation my way?
Top news that you are feeling good again..keep on keeping on!
Good on you for getting right in there. I started off walking after my diabetes diagnosis, but I changed to my exercise bike after a while.
They say that you have to like what you're doing to keep up the motivation levels (and I much prefer to ride my bike while watching tv!).
Good to hear you're feeling better. Keep it up with the exercise. I eat like total crap, but I've lost 10 pounds this year because I've run so much.
Go to the store and buy the Aug. 20th issue of "First" magazine. It is green for this issue. It has an awesome article on why drinking water will help you loose weight. I have always heard that drinking water was good for you but the article explains why and when to drink the water for weight loss. I was totally amazed. With the walking you are doing and drinking water, you have no choice but to lose weight.
The story on TV was correct when it said not to go under 1,000 calories. Your body thinks you are not eating enough and it will go into starvation mode and preserve calories so that you don't starve. I have heard that you can diet on the week days and eat a little more on the weekends and you body will adjust better to the diet.
When you walk you are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. You can be burning fat and building muscle at the same time and not seem to lose as much. Your best way to judge if you are losing weight is to see how your clothes fit. If they are loose, then you are doing a good job.
Keep up the walking, it is good for you. Glad you are feeling better.
I will pump you up!
