The slumber party

It has occurred to me that I didn't explain the nature of the "sleep over" I attended. It wasn't a typical sleep over that you may have attended as a child. Truth is there was no sleeping involved as the party was held at 2 in the afternoon. It was sort of a tupperware party for .....well......things of the adult nature. There were plenty of creams and lotions as well as hardware there for purchase. Don't make me say it. You understand now right?

The party was originally scheduled on a date that I couldn't possibly attend. I was relieved. THEN she decided to change the date of the party and it ended up at a time when I could attend. She hadn't mentioned it to me in a while and since there was no written invitation I thought that I might wisk the family out of the house prior to the party's launch. Then I'd be scott free. It didn't work that way. My family was sluggish in the morning and it took forever to get them all motivated. The closer it got I knew I was going to have to go. Now that I think about it I bet you CCB did that on purpose to MAKE me go to the party.

I've been married for 13 years now. I'm not new to the world of bumpin' uglies. It's just the idea of sitting in a room with a bunch of women and passing around vibrators that I wasn't into. I don't want them knowing what I do in my bedroom any more than I want to know what goes on in theirs you know? Anywho......I had to go now the party was next door after all I couldn't pretend I didn't see all the cars.

I decided that since I had to go I was going to go all in. I passed every toy and every cream. I participated in their goofy games. I blushed and made jokes with the rest of the women, and you know what? It wasn't as bad as I thought. For me it wasn't about all the toys and the jellies (though I did get some new ideas) I was with women my own age. We were laughing and having fun. I wasn't wiping noses or tushies, I wasn't reading Clifford the Big Red Dog, and I wasn't checking homework. I was just a plain ole woman for a little while. It was nice.

Good for you! It is always nice to be with adults only for a change when you are raising children. I have never attended an X-rated party and I have threatened the lives of anyone inviting a male stripper to by birthday party, however, I think it's great for those who get a kick out of such things. I guess now we know a little more about the real you. LOL

Granny Annie- Yeah, I guess there is more to me than typically share. It's good to keep your mystique right?

I don't think that I would have felt comfortable at one of those parties....maybe it's just me.

I do get out and have ladies day with many of the church ladies and I have a great time. I also get to have fun with some of the men when I do my ham radioing....

Lucy- Oh I was far from "comfortable" but I figured if I was in for a dime then I was in for a dollar!

I was invited to one of those by my 20-year old niece. I waffled about going and finally went because I was afraid she'd be by herself (?) When I got there both of my daughters were already playing. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen opening soft drinks and ripping the tops of Chip bags.

I love the progression here...how you came around to actually enjoying yourself...good for you...AND you got some new ideas!

I know exactly how it feels to be away for a bit. I never thought I'd ever be happy to just wander aimlessly round a supermarket for half an hour!

I haven't been to one of those parties for years (I had one for my hen night in my previous marriage), for me they're a bit like eating at McDonalds - ok once in a while. There's a nice shop near me that sells stuff like that for women only (www.sh-womenstore.com), and you don't have to do the goofy games.

Might as well get hung for a sheep as a lamb, as we say over here. glad you got stuck in though. Did you make any purchases?

Lorna-Yeah I think being there with adult kids would be awkward!

Chick-I won't be so quick to turn down invitations any more.

Mrs.T- I figure it's easier to get your "goodies" from the net but like you said, it was a nice change.

Rach-Ummm yes. Yes I did buy some stuff. I forgot to mention that my name was in a drawing and I won a 34 dollar credit!

That is great! I'm glad that you went and had fun. I really cherish the adult time that I get every once in a blue moon!
