Monday again.

Well, everyone in my house is sick. They have runny/stuffy noses and lovely coughing fits. I seem to be the only one who is still healthy. (Have I doomed myself by saying that?)

I have an OB/GYN appt. this week. Joy. I always feel odd when an appt like this is coming up. I behave a little differently than normal. Absolutely NO nasty coochies the night before an appt. And well, I tend to groom a little differently too. (TMI?) I know she sees a bunch of different women every day and has probably seen things I'd cringe at but I worry that she'll look at me and think I groom too much or not enough. Am I the only freak that thinks this way? (My mom always said don't ask a question unless you're ready for the answer.)*bracing myself*

I also have a 3 hour blood glucose test on the same day. I scheduled it that way on purpose. My honey is taking the day off to be there with me. Isn't he sweet? I'm oh so hopeful that my test results will be positive. I lost way more weight than the doctor said I had to and I'm eating much better than I used to. Granted I have slipped some of my old faves back into the mix but I have a lot more fruit and veggies than I used to.

I jogged for the first time in years last night. I was cranky (WHO ME?) and CCB was sick, so I took off on my own. I was a little nervous to take the normal route because of a few scary dogs so I changed it up a little. On the final mile I decided to jog every other block, a little interval training I guess. It felt great at first, then my knees started feeling like jelly, and then the lungs....Oh the lungs....To think I was considering a 5K race! What am I some sort of idiot? (Don't answer that.) When I got home and cooled down enough I felt TERRIFIC! I was sweaty and stinky and I felt energized. I think I'm gonna add this to my routine. Maybe I can increase the amount I run little by little. *shrugs* Who knows?

We went to see the Bee movie. It was cute. It had some kinda dumb parts but overall I'd recommend it to families with munchkins.

That's all that I can think of right now. My boy needs help kickin' some storm trooper booty on his Star Wars game.

Oh man, I had those appointmenst too. I make sure there is not hanky panky the night before and I take my shower right before I go to see the doctor....I've had three kids and you would think that it wouldn't bother me, but it does....

Go to the health food store and buy some Olive Leaf, it does wonders for colds and coughs....A friend of mine told me about it and it is wonderful. Also, hit with the old favorites like, chicken soup, garling with warm salt water, Vit C., Zinc and a good hot shower.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your blood sugar will be in the normal range.....

Walk five minutes and then jog for two, then repeat. It is supposed to burn more calories than just walking or just running.....Don't over do.

Good luck at your appointments...I thought I was the only one who schedules it all in one day...as for the grooming more before...yes...definitely.

I thought I'd hate jogging...I have to admit...I hate getting started...but once you get going...it's sort of peaceful.

Hope everyone gets better soon.

Good look at the gynae clinic, I hate those visits too (reminds me - pap smear in Feb in memory of fairsCaPe). Since having my daughter I'm totally past caring what people see down there, I automatically assumed when I was in hospital that everyone who came to my bedside wanted a look. I couldn't groom down there much as I wanted to while I was pregnant, and it was a real thing for me letting go. Now I think 'hey, they get paid lots of money to look down there, I'll give them something to look at'!

As for the running, I used to do a bit and started from scratch. Do as Lucy Stern says at first, but do it for 30 mins, then slowly increase the amount of time you spend running and decrease walking time. If you go in straight away at full jogging you're more likely to strain something and put yourself off it for a while. Believe me, I'm speaking from painful experience!

Oh yes, arnica rubs are good for sore muscles, my ex is a marathoner and mountaineer absolutely swears by Neal's Yard arnica muscle salve.

I guess we have "come a long way baby" when we discuss coochies in our blogs. But, hey, why not? It's nice to know others dread their OB/GYN appointments. Ah, sisterhood!

I totally know what you mean about being different for your gyno appointment. I would shave my legs for my OB before I would my husband :)
