I've slipped some of the "sneaky chef" purees into my family's food. They haven't even noticed! I've put Orange puree (1 sweet potato and 3 carrots) into tomato soup and spaghetti sauce. SCORE! Then last night I slipped white bean puree into our Pasta Roni white cheddar and shells. SCORE! I actually think the texture was better. The sauce was thicker and creamier. This might work out better than I thought!
My hubby has to work late tonight but when he gets home he will be all mine for 3 WHOLE DAYS! I can barely contain my enthusiasm! I've been cleaning like a mad woman all morning. I want all my housework done so I can spend my time chillaxin' with my man!
I'm turning into a crabby ole lady. On New years eve we were watching the "Two towers" waiting for the ball to drop. I would have been in bed much earlier but my daughter wanted to see the wonder that is midnight at years end. She just knew it was magical and didn't want to miss it. ANYWAY....So the ball drops we clink our wine glasses filled with cream soda and the fireworks build to a crescendo outside. They had been firing them off all night but it was crazy at midnight. THEN the gangsta rap starts up. It's so loud that I can make out every "N" word and "F"bomb they say. I tried to blow it off thinking it's just cuz it's midnight. After that song ended there was another......I was ready to call the cops! They might wake my kid! There was only two songs played. No harm done. I found it interesting though just how little I was willing to put up with! Ha! It's only a matter of time before I start wearing rollers in my hair while I water the lawn and pulling my pants up to my boobs. I'll be the cranky old lady on the block!
Well I have laundry to flip and one more bathroom to scrub for my weekend preparation!
Have a great day!

It's total crap that you get more patient as you get older. Old men drivers (especially ones wearing hats) are always the worst.
Did I tell you that my colleague once got road raged at by the Duke of Edinburgh (the Queen's hubby)? He drives a black cab taxi (who looks at taxi drivers?), for some reason he got angry with her and leaned out of his window hurling abuse at her.
Oh, get to work. I want you to have a wonderful, relaxing and sensuous three days with hubby. Why is it that women can't relax in clutter? Anyway, I know the importance of a clean home to clear your head.
By the way, my husband defines sensuous as "SINCE YOU IS up, will you bring me some ice cream?"
Also, you need to know this quote: "If the music is too loud, you're too old."
I am really too old because I hate that loud rap stuff.
Happy weekend OGO!
I don't care how old you are there is no place for that loud gangts crap. It is very offensive and doesn't need to be loud enough that you can make out every word from next door.
I baby sat for my two grandkids on New Years Eve and we let JJ stay up till the ball dropped at 11:00pm. in New York. Then TF and I stayed up and cheered in the New Year at midnight. The fire workd were fierce and I could still hear them at 3 o'clock in the morning.
Glad you are able to "sneak" in the good veggies and the family doesn't notice. I'm pretty lucky in the fact that my family already likes the good veggies. When the kids were home I would set out trays of cuecumbers, tomatoes, carrots, celery and brocklie for them to snack on after school. I would fix a nice dip and they would eat it till it was gone.
Have a great weekend with CCB...
Oh My LORD, be glad you don't live in D.C. - the residents there, well, just the younger ones, use this holiday and the 4th of July as an excuse to celebrate ALL NIGHT LONG, no matter who you are, what day of the week it is or how many kids or elderly people you have sleeping inside. They don't care. I'll never forget 2 Independance Day's ago...it was a WEEK DAY! Had to work the next day...Up until 5am with fireworks in the streets...oh and by the way, the cops don't care!
Glad it didn't last too long for you!
ENJOY THE WEEKEND WITH THE HUBBY!!!
i just have one word for you and gangsta rap:
goodtaste
Just stopping by to say "Hello" to you and yours...I am still alive.
Gabby
I'm digging the randomness. I also like the food-prep ideas.
I'm slow-cooking a turkey breast tomorrow. Wish me luck.
