Is it really ONLY Wednesday?

Is it just me or does this week seem to be dragging? It feels like it should be Thursday at least! I don't have anything of real value today, so I'll just go random on you YO!

I found a cool website called The daily plate you can track the calories of the food you eat as well as the calories you burn doing different exercises and activities. Now I couldn't find anything about the balance ball workout I've been doing but it does give you totals for dishes, driving, and the ever common running while pushing a wheel chair! It's really a cool site but you have to pay attention to the calorie totals you choose for your foods, they can be entered by other members and aren't always accurate. My sweet CCB brought me Taco Bell for lunch today and the totals on the site for my Grande Soft Taco were not the same as the totals for that item on the Taco Bell website. Yes. Yes I DID enter a correction. Anyway. I thought it was kinda cool so I thought I'd share.

Found out that someone who has spent a bit of time around me children lately has lice. Can you believe that I have never dealt with lice before? Never had it as a kid. Didn't know anyone who had it as a kid. My kids haven't come up with it.......yet. I'm a little nervous about the process of getting rid of them. I'm sure it's nothing I can't handle but still.... That would be a new feather in this moms hat wouldn't it?!

I found a rip off recipe for that Bang Bang shrimp we fell in love with on our date. I wasn't surprised to find that it had mayo in it. My husband hates mayo.. I knew it had it in it when we ate it but I didn't want to mention it and make my husband freak out. He said he had his suspicions about it but ate it any way. SO I got this idea to try to thin it up a little and serve it as a sauce over pasta. Whattaya think? Perhaps replace the mayo with cream? It wouldn't add any flavor really but it would be much thinner than mayo yet thick enough to stick to the pasta. Come on all you chef's! I want your ideas! Here is the recipe for the sauce:
1/2 cup mayo
1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
3-5 drops hot chili sauce-just a few drops

I don't know. Maybe just add the spiced up shrimp to an alfredo. *sigh* Oh the possibilities!

Did anyone watch Big Brother last night? Couples? Really? I don't think I could handle being the real life couple that got split up. I would be giving the eveil stink eye to what ever girl was paired with my husband.

How about The biggest loser? Is Trent not the biggest sweetheart ever?!

Last night my favorite shows were all overlapping. It made me crazy! Thank heavens for DVR. I love you DVR yes I do. I do, I do, I do love you. MWAH!

Sorry for getting all sappy there.

I have family coming to visit at the end of March and I am so excited. It's my brother and sister in law (and kids) from Colorado. They have lots of things they want to do so I may get to do a little more of the touristy thing around here. Mel and I started off kinda rocky in the relationship department but now she's one of my dearest friends. I'm glad we got our acts together and got past the crap. They are wonderful people and I'm counting the days till they get here!

Have a great Thu..wait I mean Wednesday!

P.S. Am I the only one who's spellcheck isn't spellchecking?

ugalmomI pray that the kids don't get lice. They are a pain to get rid of. My kids got it from a friend and it took hair cuts and lemon juice to do the trick. You have to wash sheets, stuffed toys and clothes. You will have to spray the furniture with Lice spray. Everyone in the family will have to shampoo their hair with the special shampoo. I'm Telling you, YOU DON'T WANT LICE.

I found out years later that if you buy shampoo with tea tree oil in it that it will help to keep the lice out. If you get lice, you will need a lice comb and either lemon juice or vinegar to get the lice eggs out of the hair. The lice eggs will "cement" themselves on to the hair shaft and the Lemon juice or vinegar will help to disolve the "cement" so the eggs will come loose. Good luck!

I would try sour cream instead of the mayo.

I have a sister who has an aversion to all things "creamy" - definitely no mayo, no sour cream, no cream cheese, no cottage cheese - lots of stuff that is white and somewhat thicker than milk looks dubious to her.

My spell check hasn't been spell checking either and it's driving me mad!!!

I got lice when I was in elementary school. Actually, my brother got it at school and then we all got it. It's not the end of the world, you use some shampoo that smells bad and kills the lice I suppose but it is yucky to think about having LICE! God, kids are so gross...KIDDING...but isn't it horrible how many things they spread around to one another over and over. All the sneezing and snotting in close quarters...BLEH!

Oh, I'm watching Big Brother...not so sure how it's gonna work out but that one couple sucks with the woman that keeps complaining, etc. Has she never seen this show? The best bet is to keep your mouth shut and stop bringing negative attention to yourself. They're gonna be gone first I think...

If you used Mozilla's Firefox then it would spell check automatically for you and you wouldn't have to use blogger's spell check.

I've never dealt with lice, either. Good luck! Hopefully your kids DIDN'T get them, though, right?
