As a funny follow up to yesterdays post I thought I'd tell you about the next favor we were asked to perform. This time it was by the elderly neighbor on the next block. We are friendly and we talk when we see each other I have no idea what her husbands name is or what her last name is for that matter. Not close just friendly.
There was a knock on my door and I opened it to find her on my porch. This is really out of the ordinary so I ask if everything is ok. She says it is then starts telling me about this project she is doing. She said that she had called my husbands place of business to see if they had what she needed and they did. She then asked if I could have him purchase it and bring it home for her. Now the item was not expensive by any means but I found it funny that she would come and ask on the same day I posted about borrowing and favors. CCB does that for ME, I hope our neighbors don't start thinking they get the same perks I do! My hubby was annoyed but did it anyway. We had to make two attempts to get it to her last night because they didn't answer the door the first time. *sigh* I wonder what's coming today?

I think, next time, she asks you to do a favor for her like that, you should collect the money first. Maybe that would put a stop to that problem. If that doesn't work, tell her CCB really is not allowed to do that and she will have to go pick it up herself if she wants it........A one time favor is OK but it should not become a habit.
wow, your neighbors are very ballsy. I don't ever really ask my neighbors for anything. Once in a while we'll borrow a tool and we have a couple of neighbors that we exchange favors for when we go away like putting trash cans back for each other or getting each others mail but rarely do we ask each other for things...I guess it is kind of nice knowing that we could if we needed to though...
That is so funny....you must be putting off those "I'm too nice for my own good" vibes;) Next time you see them, growl. That oughta put a stop to 'em! LOL
