Ok, so there I am laying in bed next to CCB's grandmother. She's a frail looking woman with a mop of white hair spilling on to her pillow. She's speaking with this demonic voice and asking me all sorts of questions. I'm paralyzed with fear but I answer her queries. Then the voice stops and it's silent for a moment. She sits up and turns to look at me. Her eyes are black. All black. I tell her that there was some demon in her body asking me questions and she replies,"He's always here watching you and talking to you." THEN the shadow her body cast over her pillow starts to suck me down into it. It's devouring me! I try to scream but nothing escapes my lips. I'm clawing at the sheets as it pulls me in all the while desperately trying to get some noise out of my body to alert someone to my distress. All I can muster is some guttural sound. Will it be enough?
It must have been because that's when CCB pulled me close and started talking in my ear. "OGO your safe. I've got you." My eye's flutter open and I am indeed safe and sound in my own bed next to a somewhat concerned looking husband. It seems my guttural cries weren't just in my dream! He was worried because he said he'd never heard a sound quite like that come from me. He was afraid something was physically wrong with me!
I have no idea where that dream came from. The woman in my dream didn't look anything like CCB's grandmother but somehow that's who she was in my dream. Usually we can kinda find something that may have played into my wild dreams but I'm at a loss for this one. I haven't watched horror flicks in years but this is what my dream felt like to me. I was afraid to go back to sleep because I was sure it would start all over again. I haven't felt like that since I was a child! It's been a bit of a cloud over me today. I'm unable to shake the creepy feeling it has given me.
Anyone have a dream mess with you like this?

Yes I have. That one sounded like a doozy though! Bless CCB for hearing you and waking up to help you. Give it a few days and the creeps will pass...you'll always remember the dream but the fear of it will lessen over the next couple of days. The mind is a funny thing. Could be from something totally simple you saw on the news or read in a book and your head just twisted it. It always helps me to sing Jesus Loves Me when I have a bad dream. It helps me calm down everytime!
I'm a very active and imaginative dreamer, but seldom get the creepy horror kind of dream. When I do though, I'm like you, and going back to sleep does not seem like an option.
Dreams like that just SUCK. I have freaky dreams from time to time, and I always have very strange dreams, but sometimes I get a dream like that where I'm so scared to fall back asleep I lay awake for hours on end. Here's hoping for a more peaceful night's sleep!
Wow, have you been watching Harry Potter lately? Scary! The black eyes would have done it for me. And yes, dreams mess with me like that sometimes where I don't want to go back to sleep. Hope you got it out of your head and have a good night's sleep tonight!
Steven King could do a lot with that dream.
I like to go to http://www.dreammoods.com/
