Monday's. You just can't stop em.

I don't have a whole lot going on these days. At least nothing exciting. So you are stuck with more random crap from your friendly neighborhood OGO.

I fixed the railing on our front porch on Friday. It had started to rot and I wanted to get it fixed before it got any worse. I found it funny that one of the male neighbors took an interest in my project. He questioned my methods and offered a multitude of tools to help (I already had all those tools by the way.) It's even funnier when you know that he hires people to do all the jobs around his house! My project took a little longer than I expected (the rot was a little more widespread than I first thought), but it looks great. Just like new. See Mr. Neighbor man, girls can do home repairs too.

I tried the new Splenda flavored sugars for my coffee this weekend. I got hazelnut and mocha. YUMMY! They are very flavorful and no calories! That is a wonderful combo if you are watching calories!

Went to the dentist last week. Found out I didn't need as much work done as he first thought. WHEW! It was getting pricey! I left the office feeling very relieved. I'm doing my best to take better care of myself, but I was starting to feel guilty about the costs. You know, I really believe that taking better care of ME is good for my family as well. It took me a long time to understand that.

I am undefeated in my family's head to head Guitar Hero battles. Just thought I'd toss that out there.

I got my first ever mp3 player. I earned enough points with my Homescan stuff to get an iPod shuffle (for FREE). I've had my eye on it for quite some time but I was just afraid I wouldn't use it much. I have to tell you how amazed I am that I could fit so much music on something the size of a matchbook. It sounds great too! I've tried it out while mowing the yard and working out. LOVE IT! (I love it EVEN more because I didn't pay a dime for it!)

Now, I'm off to clean up the rest of the railing on the porch. Those freaking caterpillars keep making cocoons on it. I have to get them off so I can paint it all up to match the new rail I replaced. Perhaps I'll do that Tuesday......Think the neighbor has any tools I can borrow? *wink*

Will you please come and fix my porch? My spouse tore it down to repair it and that's the way it's been all winter. If I had a clue, I would get out there and try to build it myself. You are my idol!

did you work out in silence before? That would kill me.

Oh great One said...

Grannie Annie- I don't know if I can fix a WHOLE porch but I'd sure give it a shot!

Tim- Most of the work outs I do at home are on dvd's so I'd just listen to the instructor. Otherwise I walk with my honey and we chat.

OMG - you are pretty good with a hammer, I can see...Keep it up!

Glad your dental work was as extensive as you thought. I just hate going to the dentist.

You know, you could use that MP3 player when you go do your walking. It is amazing how music can make you walk faster and it keeps it from being so boring. Have fun with it!

I got my first ever mp3 player last month..I love that little bugger!! Makes cleaning the house so much more fun when I don't have to listen to Nickelodeon on the TV as my theme music:)

I love that men, mostly neighbors, think that the lady of the house can't be "handy". I do a ton of stuff around my house. It's just in my genes, and I'm good at it, if I do say so myself. Plus, if the hubby don't mind, then neither do I.

I was out planting the garden, trimming the bushes and mowing the lawn the other day. And the hubby totally appreciated it - sometimes the men in our lives get tired of doing the "man" jobs too!

Maybe I'll see if my hubby can hem a dress for me later this week - he might be really good on the sewing machine ;O)

I like the fact that you are not afraid to take on projects. You are very hands on. Good for you.
