Tue Tue Tuesday-O

School has ended and my daughter is officially home for the summer. I guess she's home. Well, physically she's home but she got a new Nintendo DS for her birthday on Sunday and I have barely seen the girl! She passed the sixth grade with flying colors, and I can't believe I'm the mother of a 7th grader. Time flies I'm telling you.

It looks like our trip to Colorado is out. Airfare is just so high these days. I can't seem to justify spending all that money. Driving is cheaper but takes up FOUR days of our vacation. We'll be doing something closer to home it seems. I wasn't really upset about not going, in fact I was relieved but I really didn't want to disappoint my grandmother. She's an amazing lady and the idea of upsetting her turned me into quite a "stress kitten." (That's what CCB calls me when I get stressed.) Of course she was sad about it but she said she was wondering if we should even make the trip herself. She is so gracious in letting me off the hook isn't she?

I don't have a whole lot going on these days. Just kinda hanging out with the munchkins. How was your weekend?

I am glad that we bought our tickets to New York when we did. The prices for airfare have steadly gone up. Gas is getting so high that it is impractical to do much traveling either.

Glad you are having a good day.

Don't you just love grandmothers? They are the best at not making you feel bad:)

I'm the mother of an 8th grader myself....it seems like yesterday he was learning to talk and now he won't shut up! LOL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR BABY GIRL!!!!

I strive to be as gracious as your grandmother...I'm not there yet by a long shot : )

Everyone in southern Louisiana loves going to Destin, FL. You should look into it. You know, it's the Cajun Riviera. :)

That was graceful on your grandmother's part; our lives are changing in ways we never expected, aren't they. On the one hand, the might of the internet, on the other the oil business crap

Stress kitten - I like that. Makes a rough thing seem cute.

I have been chillin' with munchkins also -- five of our grandchildren. Four have their heads stuck in electronic games, MySpace and cell phones. It is like they really haven't left home.

OGO, I really need for you to start a fitness group. I am in the kitchen so much with family here and can't resist my own cooking!
