I don't need no stinkin' store bought tomatoes. Not when I'm growing these babies in my back yard!
With all the trees in my yard and my neighbors yards it's hard to find a place to put in a big garden. I've got a prime plot of yard I'd love to use but it doesn't get enough sun. So this year I decided to plant some plants in pots. If they didn't get enough where I have them I figured I could always move them somewhere else. So far I've got 4 tomatoes and lot's of blooms on my pepper plants. My zucchini has several blossoms as well. The cucumbers haven't got any blossoms yet but they are close! Ten days ago on a whim I decided to plant some seeds in a few extra pots I had, green onions, lettuce, and green beans. I can't believe how fast they are growing! There are at least 30 bean plants growing out there! (The onions and the lettuce has sprouted too!)
My family is not nearly as taken with my plants as I am. I go out and inspect them in the morning and usually one other time during the day. It's amazing how fast they grow! Anyway, there you have it. I'm a dork. A dork with yummy salmonella free tomatoes.

Mmmmm, I love homegrown tomatoes! To me, there's not much better than a fresh BLT with 'maters from the garden!
Hope CCB had a great Father's Day!
Somehow I knew you would grow your own tomatoes. You have a way around problems. Your family may not appreciate your efforts but I'm willing to bet they show up at the table and inhale your labors with smiles.
We have tomato plants as well but no tomatoes on them yet. We cannot wait. However we did buy some vine ripe from our Farmers Market that we trust.
oh I lurve home grown tomatoes....we are a long way from ripe ones here
What a green thumb....and I don't mind telling you that I am horribly jealous of you:) (You know I killed an air fern once.) Oh, well, I can't grow em but I can sure eat em! (see how everything evens out LOL)
YAYYY! OMG I am so jealous! I have 5 tomatoes that are about that size now but they're still green so they need a little more time. Hooray for home grown veggies. Keep up the good work OGO!
Good looking tomatoe.....Nothing better than home grown.......
We planted 12 tomato plants this year and they are producing wonderfully. TF and Bonnie will wash a tomato, sprinkle a little salt on it and it the thing whole. I like mine sliced...
I know a lot of people who do their gardens in pots..
