During my quest to get fit and healthy I've seen a lot of changes to my body. I decided that I actually had some features that I like. Guess what? They were there all along! I think sometimes women get so stuck on the things we don't like about ourselves that we don't take the time to see the great features we DO have.
We THINK we know what guys want or like in a woman but I guarantee you that they aren't scrutinizing all those flaws you THINK they are. You look at yourself and see sagging boobs, a back hump and a runny eye. He sees a woman with boobs large enough to sag, a place to rest his arm and a lovely green eye.
If your man tells you you are beautiful. Believe him. He sees the REAL you. I have always had a terrible time taking a compliment from my husband. He would say something nice and I would poo poo it and blow it off. It upset him. I understand his point of view now. Take that compliment in the spirit it was given and be happy that you have someone sweet enough to say it!
Now go look in the mirror and find something about yourself you like.

Are you the one that said, "My husband said he didn't love me in spite of my flaws but BECAUSE of my flaws"? I read that and forgot where but it sounds like it might have been here.
My exercise is going well. I've only lost ONE pound but my ankles are thinner and my boobs have shrunk. Not exactly what I was going for but the rest ought to start falling in line. LOL
I have nice eyes...There I said it. And it even feels uncomfortable coming from me!LOL I don't accept compliments well at all about my physical appearance and so when Grover gives me one I always have to remember "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", so if he thinks I'm beautiful good for me!
Granny Annie- You know, I remember reading that too! It sounds too clever for me to have said.
Sprinkle- Good for you! I bet you are lovely!
That is such good advice. I still struggle with vanity, and wish I could lift that and lose this...and not just for my husband either. I want to look good at work; I want the guy at the wine store to think I look distinguished and the guy at the book store to think I don't look drunk....
Wow...I can hear the confidence in your voice...I love it!
I think I can say that I love my green (runny) eyes : )
I agree with you OGO! I have always had a really hard time accepting compliments until finally one day the hubby told me to just be quiet and take it. He wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it. I have to say, he always makes me feel beautiful and helps me realize that the things I harp on are the things he finds most appealing about me!
You have a point there, but it is hard, especially when you are over weight. I like my little feet....
When you hit menopause the boobs go even further south...I feel like Phyllis Diller wearing a 40 long.....lol
