Go away GUSTAV!

Friday
This is the first storm we've really had to be wary of since we moved here I have to admit I'm anxious. My neighbors said that our block lost power for a week after Katrina. So I'm preparing like we were going camping. I must be on the right track because everyone at Walmart was going to the same aisles I was. I've baked up a storm to have things we could eat with little prep. I've been hoarding water and ice. I've got my batteries and flashlights at the ready. The car is filled up, the cell phone is charged, camp stove is out and we have propane for it, our meds are filled and my cabinets over flow with ready to eat crap.

I hope I'm ready. I hope I'm ready for a storm that fizzles before it gets to us.

Because you are so well prepared you probably won't have any problems. Isn't that the way it usually goes?

Fingers are crossed for you and yours.

Do you have a lot of beer and alcohol? I know it sounds irresponsible, but if the power goes out and you're so hot you feel like you want to die, the beer and/or liquor takes the edge off. ;)

Sounds like you are doing all the right things...same here. Don't forget to put the garbage cans, bicycles and anything out in the yard up so it doens' become a flying projectile....We are ready here, let's hope she changes her mind and just turns around....Yea, I know, wishful thinking. Keep in touch...

I have been worried about you all day. It looks like you are taking a pounding over there in Lousiana...Stay inside! Hope your power comes back on soon.

Good job OGO! I'm glad that you prepared for a storm that fizzled before it got to you. THey're the best kind! Our friends that live in New Orleans didn't evacuate, which seemed odd to me since they left during Katrina and had damage to their home, but whatever. I guess they know what they're doing.

I will pray that Hanna gets the hell away from you guys too. Stay safe!
