I've been watching the Olympics and here are some things that bug me. I'd like to hear what you think about them.
First I don't like having professionals competing in the games. I guess I feel like they chose their path, they chose to go pro. They get paid to play. I think that the games should be for people who strive to be the best. Who compete for the love of the sport. Maybe that is a naive view but that's how I feel.
I don't like it when athletes move to a different country to live and train then return to compete for their home country. I don't know if that makes me some sort of bad person but it seems to me that if you are so proud to be from the great country of Imagonnakickayoutusha you should train there.
I love Mr. Phelps and what he's doing BUT I hate it when they interview another swimmer for winning a gold medal THEN start asking questions about Michael Phelps. Give the guy his own 15 minutes of fame. Make the interview about him and what he has accomplished. You can talk to him and others about their thoughts at another time. Sheesh!
Also the story I heard about the little girl who sang at the opening ceremonies wasn't allowed to sing in front of the crowd because she wasn't cute enough ticks me off. They brought in another little girl to lip sync to the other girls voice! The singer was adorable! Rude I tell you.
Anywho. That's what's been bouncing around my head this morning. What do you think?

First: I agree that professionals do not belong in the games. Yao Ming and Kobe Bryant have better things to do and chose their path years ago.
Second: Not so sure about the training issue. Some of those countries have very few athletes competing and they just don't have the equiptment.
Third: I totally agree about the interviewing of other athletes and the Michael Phelps issue.
Fourth: What was fourth?....Can't remember.
Yes, I have been totally mesmerized by the games.
Oh, I forgot...The oatmeal. It is just the nature of oatmeal, that it will be "sticky" and "gooey". I don't think that changing types of oatmeal will make a difference. If you don't like it that way, don't make it in the crockpot.....
I would encourage you to try the wheat berries in the winter time. It makes a good hearty breakfast and is super easy to do.
Professionals don't belong at the Olympics, but it's tough to draw the line. Michael Phelps will have millions in endorsement deals, while other athletes wait tables to make ends meet. Are they really on the same level? Of course not. Some countries fund their athletes like crazy, and others are completely ignored. And yet they all compete just the same, nobody gets a handicap. The Olympics are not really about being "fair".
