The winds are kicking up here due to IKE. We aren't supposed to get the bad part of the storm we are only on the outer bands but the wind and the rain are coming in now. It makes my heart beat a little faster. Gustav messed with my head a little. I'm on edge. I'm praying for you Texans. Stay safe!
My sons first week of preschool went well. He learned all about standing in line and taking turns with the girls. Truth be told all he wanted to talk about is jumping in the bouncy house. Who can blame him?
How bout them politics? Can't we all just get along?
My cayenne pepper plant is still giving me peppers. I have a beautiful string of them drying in my kitchen.
Got a slow drain? Sprinkle some baking soda down it and then pour some vinegar down the drain. Let it fizz for a bit then rinse with hot water. Viola!
Upon some recent reflection I don't think I'm AS boring as I used to think. JUST since being here in Louisiana I've had a boatload of crazy experiences. Maybe there is hope for me yet.
I think I'm done losing weight now. I'm pretty happy where I am at. I feel good and seem to be able to maintain it. (It's been my fear that I would decide to stop and then gain it all back.) I went from a size 14 to a size 4. I'm like a whole new me. My doc even gave me the OK to stop taking the Metformin (diabetes meds) for now. She said to come back in 3 months to have my blood work done again. YAY! The hard work is starting to pay off. Now if I can just STAY off the meds I'll be even happier camper.

Wow, you have done so well with your weight loss. I still have my six pounds off but I haven't been riding my bike because of my arm.

We are in the bulls eye of IKE! We are just starting to get some gusts of wind and we should get some rain in a few hours. We are as ready as we will be, the rest is up to God! Please pray.
Glad you did so good with your weight loss. I wish I could lose and keep it off. Eating low carbs seems to do the trick for me, but I can only go so long with no fruit.....

We were in Houston last weekend. It was weird knowing we were there just a few days before the storm hit. Our friends who got married are on their honeymoon. What a horrible thing to come home to.

and about the politics...it wouldn't be politics if we did get along! But I feel the same way as you...it seems that they don't even talk about the real issues anymore...it is crowded with lies and slander.

I have been eating so poorly the last month, I think I've gained back a few pounds and it's making me sad! I need to get back on the ball because there is NO WAY I'll let myself gain back all the weight I lost. Congrats to you for doing so well. You're a rock star OGO!!
