Cool weather tidbits

There isn't anything better than FALL. The temps are cooling down a little around here and I want nothing more than to be outside all the time. I don't care if I'm just sweeping up the shells that those freakin' squirrels keep dropping in my driveway. (The shells are sharp and can hurt when you are walking around in your socks.)

No, I probably shouldn't be walking around in my socks. I should probably wear shoes or go bare footed. It's OK though, I'M THE MOM!

Something I hadn't thought as being fall out from a hurricane, MOSQUITO'S. Yes, they find me quite tasty. I woke up this morning with incredibly itchy ankles. Upon investigation I found that they had left a lovely anklets of red bumps. That's what I get for sitting outside in the cool evening air with my husband. Mosquito repellent candle BAH!

This cooler air has spurred me to make sure my children have long pants in the event we get a day that is just too cold for shorts. I had to go to the BOY'S dept. today. *WAH* While he can still fit in the toddler pants they are too baggy on him. My daughter is edging out of the girls section now as well. *sigh* Where does the time go?

OK. Enough of this computer. There MUST be something for me to do outside. How about putting up the fence that Gustav knocked down.......

Could I PUT any more caps in this post? :)

I thought THE MOM was supposed to set a good example for THE CHILDREN. Shoes please:-)

And, are you sure mosquitos bit you? Sounds like chigger bites to me.

Yep, bugs and all, this cool weather (minus hurricanes) is wonderful.

All the standing water we have means that those little devil are laying their eggs everywhere, which mean there are like a gazillion more of them than normal. I hate mosquitoes.

But I, too, have been enjoying are sort-of unseasonable weather. Weather like this doesn't normally come so early in September, so I keep worrying it'll start going back to being around 100 degrees again.

Just to let you know that we survived Hurricane IKE>>> What a mess. This time the news media is not exagerating....Our neighborhood looks like a war zone without bodies. Our house came out OK but some of the neighbors were hit hard....Still no power but we do have a genarator, a real life saver. I will be posting about my experience in the next day our two, so keep posted.

The reasons I don't walk around in just my socks? I'd get cold & I hate dirty socks.
