It's Monday, now what?

Well I got to visit with my widdy brudda this weekend. I didn't get to visit as much as I would have liked. It seems like the time flew by but it was great none the less. It does my heart good to see my kids playing with their future cousins. That's one of the things I miss most about being near family, my kids interacting with their cousins.

On Saturday I got a bit of a scare. While I was visiting with my company I saw a man walk past my window and into my back yard. There was no reason for him to be back there (like meters to read etc.) so I went to my back door and stepped outside. I felt pretty brave having my ex-marine brother standing over my shoulder! The guy was chasing his little dog and it ran into my back yard. The guy just grinned at me and said that the dog is a fast runner. Now am I alone in the thought that you shouldn't just go into someones back yard unannounced? I think I would have knocked on the door first to see if it was OK. I mean who knows what you'll walk into. I coulda been burying a body or something!

My fridge was on the blink last night. I think I've brought it back to the land of the living but I can't tell you how stressed we were at the time. All I kept seeing was dollar signs. Between what food we might lose to the cost of a new refrigerator. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that thawing it all out over night was the magic bullet. The refrigerator isn't that old it can't die on me yet!

Soup sounds good tonight. I think I'm gonna rustle up some chicken and rice soup. I hope you had a great weekend!

Glad you had a nice visit with the fam. And soup sounds so yummy! If we weren't leaving for vacation on Saturday I would make soup this week too, just don't want all the left overs going to waist when we leave. And honestly, I know it's probably bad practice, but if my dog was running away I would probably just follow without announcing myself and that could end up in disaster but those little suckers are fast. Sometimes there is no time to announce yourself.

Glad your brother could come for a visit and that the kids got to play with their cousins....

About the man and the dog: I bet he ran back there, instead of knocking, because he didn't want to loose sight of the dog. That doggie could have slipped out under your fence and he might never see him again. Under perfect circumstances, he should have knocked, but he didn't....Good thing you weren't burying a body.

Keep an eye on that frig....Great timing for it to go out. You need to have the number of a repairman handy just in case. $$$$$$ signs, anyway you look at it...lol

One question, "Was there actually a doggie?" Sounds like a good ruse for a peeping tom or worse.

My siser and I are close and I love my brother, but his life rarely involves me or my sis. When we get him on the phone it's like, "Oh yea, I've got sisters". I'm jealous of you and your brudda.

I would never go into a stranger's back yard like that no. However, all of my neighbors are used to seeing our dogs in their yard (when they manage to get out of ours) and they just send them back home for me!

I have been doing soup and chili all week. The weather has been PERFECT for it.
