Ok. You are all well aware of the fact I have lost some weight over the past year and a half or so. It was very slow and steady. My doctor (the one I USED to have!)was aware of what I was doing and my progress. You couldn't help but be aware because it consumed my life and therefore made plenty of appearances on my blog.
My family has been aware of this too. (You didn't think you were the only ones who had to hear about it did you? HA!) All of our family lives far away and there are very few members of our family who have actually seen me in person since the weight loss. I understand that seeing me for the first time might be a little surprising. I understand that I look different than I did before. I'm prepared to hear comments about the difference between then and now. The comments that I don't like hearing are the ones that tell me they were shocked. SHOCKED?! The ones that say DON'T YOU LOSE ANYMORE WEIGHT! The ones that say I saw your arms you better stop losing weight.....etc. etc... I've stopped losing weight. I've been maintaining my weight for several months now.
These comments make me feel like people don't trust me to do the healthy thing. HELLO! That's why I lost the weight in the first place. To get healthy. I didn't drop 50 lbs in a week. I didn't use some fad diet. I exercised and ate right. I did it the healthy way. RIGHT? So why do people think I'm going to go "overboard" and lose too much weight? (Yeah, that was another comment.) I've had enough. I feel fantastic! My husband gushes over my new form and I love that! I have confidence that I never had before.
Soooo.....Even though I don't like to post pictures of myself on the my blog I will put this out there to ask you this question....
After
Do I look unhealthy to you?

YOU LOOK AMAZING! 50 lbs is no small thing! I'm very impressed. You did it the slow & steady way & you changed your lifestyle...you didn't diet at all...hooray for you AND your entire family for eating healthy & keeping it up. You did more than you know for your kids to teach them how to eat right for life.
you look fantastic! I'm proud of how you did it too; so few do it the right way. I can see why the husband gushes, I'm sure he is very proud of you.
You have one seriously enviable figure there girl, one I would give my right arm for. If I didn't like you so much I could hate you for being so gorgeous :-P
You look peaceful (haha! get it? get it?).
You look great. You've worked hard to look good and you do.
I've found that most people who comment about someone losing "too much weight" (when it's being achieved healthfully) is partially due to jealousy. They're jealous you've lost weight and don't want you to be TOO skinny for whatever reason of their own.
So, ignore it. You're doing what's right for you.
You should be so proud! And you look like you can weather some ill-advised comments with no trouble. And not to be too gaga, you look younger in your "after" shot by quite a bit.
Well, I think you look great....I wonder how many of those people are just jealous of what you have been able to accompolish? It could have been worse, they might now have said anything at all.....
I lost 50 lbs. at one time, while my daughter was gone for a year, and she never said a word when she came home....
I wouldn't worry about what others think..It is your life and you know when you are healthy and feeling good.....I would think that the only one who would make a difference is CCB....And he LOVES the way that you look.....Eat healthy and don't worry about what others say....I'm with Mrs. T, I would love to look like that right now.....(sigh)
you look fantastic!!!!
