I was getting antsy and ready to leave the hospital. I had counted the minutes till visiting hours started, knowing that CCB couldn't get there till after the kids were on their way to school. They brought me a salty breakfast of a ham and cheese omelet and bacon. CCB got there and we waited...Finally I asked the nurse if I would be able to leave that day or not. She explained that she didn't have any orders yet and that I'd have to wait for the doc to come by and see me. UGH.
Well sitting in that bed for twenty four hours had taken it's toll on my neck and back. (I don't care if those beds are adjustable I couldn't get comfortable.) My neck was hurting and it was giving me a headache. The headache was in turn making me sick to my stomach. I was hoping and praying that the doctor would arrive soon so I could get out of there before things got worse. The doc finally came and told me that he'd send me home even though the results from the echo cardiogram wasn't back yet. YAY!
The nurse came in and removed my IV and diconnected the heart monitoring thingy. She explained that they were getting a new patient and that she was trying to get me checked out because when the new patient came in THEY would be the priority and I would have to wait longer. Then she then told me I could get dressed. I'm standing between my bed and the sink when the first wave hit me. I couldn't hold it back so I barfed in the sink. Now barfing isn't particularly funny but our reaction to it was. CCB grabbed some rubber gloves and cleaned out what I couldn't wash down the sink. I finished getting dressed. Some more time passed and another wave of nausea came over me. I made it to the bathroom this time and was heaving up a storm. I was doing my best to barf in silence when I heard a rap at the door. The door opened and it was my nurse. I had to stop in mid heave so she wouldn't hear me. She needed my signature so I got myself together and signed her papers. We were on our way. Just needed to get a wheel chair to wheel me down to the car.
We were so desperate to keep my barfing from them. Neither of us wanted me to stay any longer. I knew it was related to my headache. I held it together till we were in the car and pulling away from the curb. That's when I grabbed a plastic bag dumped it's contents and barfed till there was nothing left.
I got home, took an Excedrin migraine, and had a nap. I woke up a new woman. A new woman who was happy to be home

So THAT is what was going on.... I'm glad that you got out of that hospital.. I don't like hospitals and would not want to stay longer than necessary... Hope you are feeling better.... Now: When do you go in for your thyroid check, the 8th?
Let us know the results of your tests when you get them. By the way if you take Excedrin migraine regularly you could be addicted to caffeine which would have caused your headache at the hospital. I kind of wish the nurse would have caught you barfing however and maybe kept you there just in case.
glad you're better

WOW! What an adventure. A pukey adventure. And I'm with you on the hospital bed thing! I don't care that they "move" they are the most uncomfortable things on earth. When I had Kai I longed for my bed at home.
NOW, what's up with you mama? I hope you got some fluids in you and are feeling better. Something similar happened to my mom a few years ago. We were out to eat and she basically passed out at the table. It was VERY scary. We had the paramedics come and it ended up that she was dehydrated. It's crazy how easily that happens. Please take care of yourself and keep us updated on your status! XOXO!
