He also questioned the tree next to the one we want removed. He said he wasn't even sure whether it was our tree gauging by the fence line. It would be fantastic if it wasn't my responsibility. It's VERY tall and has caused issues with the power lines before. I guess the only way to find out is to have a survey done. OOO more money! Please, please can I spend more money? IF it's ours it'll have to wait.
Gotta go! Need to do all the things I can that require electricity before I don't have any!
Have a great Wednesday!
Update
The tree is down. It didn't look like it was that big until it was gone. They didn't interrupt my electricity so we are all comfy and cool. I got a price break too. He quoted me 575 yesterday and today when I was writing the check I asked him what the total was. I didn't know if there was gonna be tax or anything and he said 500! I reminded him about the additional limb we had him take off another tree for 75. I couldn't help it I HAD to be honest. I was rewarded with 25 dollars off the quoted price! YAY! He also has given me the name of a good air conditioning repair man and a pest control guy! He said I should call him first when I need a service because they know who's the best. He also told me that the other tree we have thought about removing will cost about 1400.00! That is if I can convince my neighbors to let us shut down their electricity for a couple of hours. Other wise it'll be 2000.00. I think a survey is in order before I drop that sort of money for a tree!
Carry on.

I hope he cuts fast too and that the other tree is not your responsiblity! Have a great Wednesday!!!
oy joy! It can only get better chica!
Ugghh, I have about 4 -5 trees I need taken down and none of them are small! I wonder if your tree guy can come cut mine down for $500. I can't even imagine how expensive mine will be...
Glad it's over (for now) and it wasn't as expensive as you thought it would be!

Before you pay anybody else to take down trees that are threatening power lines call your local power company. Here they will take down ,top off, or remove branches on any tree that is problematic for free.
Thanks for visiing by the way.
You might want to know that fallen trees caused the most damage in Baton Rouge during Hurricane Katrina. See if you can get the next door neighbor to split the cost with you.
Coastal towns had to worry about storm surge and town further inland had to worry about wind damage.
