Get outta my way!

So I'm standing in line at the pharmacy yesterday with my son who is none to happy about being in line. He keeps asking if we can go home. I tell him we have to get my medicine and that he'll just have to wait. He asks me why. I tell him that all these other people were here before us and that they get to go first. He was getting frustrated and in a somewhat loud voice says, "These people need to get out of my way!" Of course the lady in front of us heard what he'd said and felt it necessary to reply. She turned around and told him she would love to get out of his way but there were still more people in front of her he'd have to wait for.

I was so embarrassed. I told him he needed to use his manners and apologize to the lady. With the lady standing there looking at him he clammed up. He apologized to me when she finally turned around. Now she had a smile on her face when she spoke the words but the tone in her voice didn't match the smile. (Know what I mean?) I don't know if she was amused or if she was angry. Who knows?

eh, kids are kids, if you can't take it in stride and realize that kids will say whatever they want unprevoked then you are just a big old jerk. We'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe she was just kidding around...

When I say stuff like that to kids in public I say it because I like talking to kids. I'm sure she didn't mean it rudely, especially if she was smiling when she said it.

Your son has probably forgotten it already, so it doesn't much matter

I don't think the lady said anything wrong. I might have turned around and said the same thing. Your young man was probably just getting tired and wanted to go home, but there are alot of kids out there that are just plain rude and have not been taught manners. If the lady meant to be mean, you would have known it. Let it slide, I'm sure she didn't mean anything about it.
