The final chapter.

I know you are tired of hearing about my bus driver drama. That's about all that's going on in my little world. No complaints about that! I prefer to be drama free!

Yesterday I planned to chat with the bus driver. I waited outside to grab him before he took off but I was approached by some lady in a car. She was inquiring about a house at the end of my block. I saw the bus coming and started to get antsy but she kept on talking. The bus stopped. She talked. My daughter got off. She talked. The bus pulled away and so did she. ARG! So last night I ask CCB if it's too far past the incident to bring it up to the bus driver. He gave me the 3 day rule which states that if 3 days pass I'm just diggin' up old bones. If I was going to bring it up I had to do it today. This time I stayed away from the road to avoid any passersby who wanted to chat with a stranger. When I heard the bus coming, it has this adorable rattle, I headed to the stop. I had practically climbed on board before he looked my direction.

I hadn't been able to come up with a good way to broach the situation so I asked him if his bus route had changed. (I figured that was pretty non confrontational.) He said no. So I went further and told him we missed him Monday and that we waited for 40 minutes. He said that he leaves the school at the same time everyday and that sometimes you just hit all the lights green. He went on to tell me that some of his "black kids" didn't ride that day either so it cut his time. He says he was about 3 minutes early. HUH? Let's examine this. I come out every day at the same time and we have to wait for him. That day he was only 3 minutes early and had come and gone before we left the house?? LIAR! Oh well. Even if he didn't fess up I followed protocol and the next step (if this continues) is to go to the school.

AND why did he have to say that some of his "black kids" didn't ride that day? Couldn't he have said some of the kids didn't ride? Why specify which ones?

AND don't you think he would have clued in that he was early when many kids weren't at their stops? That's probably why the "black kids" didn't ride, he was too darn early! They probably missed him just like we did!

SIGH

I'll stop. No more bus driver talk. I promise. I hope she gets a new one next year for middle school.

THE END.

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! It wasn't that I was tired of hearing about him, it was that I was kind of glad that that's behind me. Now I'm ecstatic.

Many times when I leave the neighborhood in the morning, I see the bus drivers parked under a big tree waiting for the correct time to start their routes. I think you have a rouge bus driver.

More than likely you will get a different bus driver next year.

Don't worry about boring us with your bus driver stories. I am curious to see what happens for the rest of the semester.

The Racist Bus Driver. Sounds like the title of a children's book.

OH man, that makes me uncomfortable even from here.

Don't school bus drivers have to keep some kind of log? In this 21st century isn't there some kind of computer tracking for the school bus? Do bus drivers just get to lie and that's the end of the issue? Too much power and not enough supervision for this vital area of contact with our children!
