My doctor showed me my test results and they were a little wonky. Technically she said I have diabetes, that is the term she classified me with. However, she did say it was what others call Pre-diabetes. I like that term a whole lot better.
The first test was just over what they like your fasting blood sugar to be. That's why she ordered the second test. THAT test had a great fasting blood sugar but it seems my body didn't process it as fast as they liked. SO she's giving me orders to exercise, abide by her diet plan, and take Metformin.
I can't be too far gone because I had everything checked a year ago. It maybe just a pipe dream but I'm really hoping that losing a few pounds will make a difference. PCOS makes it harder to lose weight but the new drug she prescribed is likely to help, IF I can handle it. It seems some people spend lots of quality time with their toilet when they take it. YAY!
The diet seems a little overwhelming to me. Not so much the things I'm to eat really, it just seems like I have to fit SO MUCH into my daily meals. We'll see how that goes. I'm going to do my best.
I really have a tough time with the word diabetes. I have seen my father in law live with it for years now and it is just not a road I wanted to go down. The term PRE-diabetes makes me feel as though I have a chance to push it back you know?
I'm sure this post is all over the place but I have so much swimming around in my head right now. I'll do better when I've processed it all. I promise!
Have a great night, and a piece of cake for me!

Here are four natural herbs that will help level out your blood sugar: fenugreek, gymnema sylvestre, konjac mannan and nopal cactus. There is supposed to be a mixture of these four herbs that will help. I also know that 1/2 a tsp. of cinnamon a day mixed with a little butter and spread on toast will help. Get on the Internet and start reading what you can on the subject.
Try not to stress out too much (heh I KNOW that's not easy - btdt). *hugs*
If you're looking for a community type forum try tudiabetes.com . They have a forum for pre-diabetes as well.
I love you. We are fighters and we WILL win!
Hang in there!
My family all seems to have diabetes or hypoglycemia. It sucks at first but it seems like people adjust okay to the diet. A friend of mine was just diagnosed a couple of weeks ago and they put her on a no sugar diet and she went through withdrawal symptoms.
be good, K?
Today, I really want to answer the question Who Cares? I care.
Daily exercise. DAILY EXERCISE.
Scary stuff...but at least there are things you can to about it now.
Good luck with it all & try not to get overwhelmed.
