I'm a complainer.

Remember how crabby I was yesterday? When I got home I found a message on my answering machine. The nurse said my blood tests came back and they were abnomal and that I needed to make an appt. Yeah. That put me on edge.

I called and talked to the nurse. She said my cholesterol was high and my thyroid levels were low. I made my appt and proceeded to stew. I was so angry. I thought about all my hard work to lose weight and get my blood sugar under control only to end up with cholesterol issues. The thyroid thing didn't upset me because I've dealing with that for nearly 10 years and figured a tweak to my dosage would set me straight again.

So me being me, I decided to do a little research before my appt. I hadn't looked up info on Hypothyroidism since I was diagnosed ages ago. Low and behold! Untreated thyroid trouble can cause high cholesterol! I may be good to go afterall. Then as I read the symptoms I start thinking DANG IT! I should have known that! What a ditz I am!

I went to the doctor this morning and I figured since my appt. was at 8:30 in the morning they wouldn't have time to get behind and I would get in and out in no time. WRONG. I sat in the exam room for an hour before the doc came in. She was in and out within 5 minutes. She left me and came back 2 more times and then sent me out to wait to get an ultra sound on my neck. In the end I was there for 2 hours and 15 minutes. With only 15-20 minutes of face time. What a pain....in the neck! Ha ha ha!

BUT GUESS WHAT? My blood sugar was normal! I did it! I managed to get it down and am managing it without meds! I am so excited I can't even tell you. Now I just need to keep it this way.

Oh my goodness what a disturbing post! I sound like some of the elderly people I know who greet you then tell you about their ailments. Sorry about that. I'm getting old.

My complaint is not for my sick elderly self but for my sick computer! At least I'm managing to get online for a few minutes at a time.

Take care of yourself dear friend or who will clean up the cat yuk and poopie pants???

Yes, I hate going to the doctors office too. I started taking flax seed oil for hot flashes and it helped but the side effect was that it lowered my cholestrol....good luck with them regulating your thyroid meds.

I am taking some stuff from Biotics Research Corporation called "Thyrostim". It has all kinds of good things in it and it is natural. When I take it like I am supposed to, my feet don't get cold, my skin isn't so dry and I have more energy....You might check it out on the Internet and see if it is something you could take.

Good luck and don't worry about complaining....we all do it...lol.

Nah...you don't sound old...besides...it beats the alternative.

I like how you stopped & cleaned up poopies & goo in the middle of it all...yep, that's life.

Puke and poop clean up all in one blog post? That's scary.

Yay for getting your blood sugar under control, though!

Well if you can handle all today's problems and still look as gorgeous as your picture, you can't be doing so bad!

(You might have changed your pic a while ago but I've only just noticed it - we could almost be twins!)
