These Monday's just keep comin'!

Let's see...I don't have any one thing that's enough to post about but I have a few tidbits.

I went to the doctor on Friday they MADE me come in so they would renew my thyroid meds. I figured if they were gonna FORCE me to come in I'd give them the low down on everything that's ailin' me. It turns out my blood pressure was low that could explain why I get lightheaded when I get up from sitting or kneeling. I have to go get another blood test tomorrow to double check my thyroid as well as my blood sugar. Keep your fingers crossed for me please. I don't want to go back to the diabetes meds.

I got a call from my best bud Jen the other day. Her mother is crazy sick with cancer and my friend is beside herself. I love them both dearly and want more than anything to ease their hurt. Unfortunately I'm like a bazillion miles away and I feel quite helpless. The only thing I know to do is send up prayers on their behalf. I'm telling you this because I know there are some prayer warriors out there who might just send some up too if they knew there was the need. Believe me the need is great. Lung, liver and bone cancer with no insurance. She beat cancer once and now it's reared it's ugly head again.

That was pretty heavy so I'll leave you with this. My son got some "big kid" toothpaste from preschool the other day. He wants more than anything to use it but I told him he needs to make sure he spits it out when he's done brushing. This stresses him out because he isn't very adept at the whole spitting thing yet. So what does he do to get the toothpaste out of his mouth? Well, he leans over the sink and does an initial small spit noise then he just sort of lets the paste and the saliva dribble out. The funny part is that he reaches back with his hand to pat the back of his head at the same time. I guess he's patting it like you would a bottle of ketchup. What ever works I guess!

ha ha, kids are great.

I'll pray for your friend's mom and their whole family. Not fun stuff at all!

that's hilarious about the patting on the head thing. My daughter sees us spitting when we brush and I think she thinks she should do it too, but she doesn't seem to really know how.

Oh...good thoughts to your friend's mom.

I think by the time your son gets a little bit older...he'll so master the spitting thing...all boys seem to get extremely good at it.

My thoughts & prayers go with Jen and her mom.

So sorry to hear about Jen and her mom. It sounds like the cancer has spread. I will pray for her and the entire family....

I bet your blood sugar is fine. It sounds more like your thyroid. I had similar problems after my third child/son was born. Every time I would look up or get up fast, I would get dizzy. The doctors did all kinds of tests on me and never did find anything wrong with me but my blood preasure as on the low side.

Some signs of low thyroid are: cold hands and feet, dry skin, hair starting to fall out and there are others. I have all of those symptoms and have started taking a natural thyroid medicine.

Does your son put any water in his mouth to help him spit? He sounds so cute, helping it along with a pat on the back of his head...lol.

My parents were the ultimate prayer warriors and I have never felt worthy to follow in their footsteps but I do try and will add your dear friends to my list.

About your son and his spitting -- That's a story for Reader's Digest. Brought the smile right onto my face.

Tim- I thought it was an inborn skill for boys but I guess not!

Chick- Thank you so much!

Bekah-Thank you, it means a lot to me.

Lucy- I hope you are right. I have been on thyroid meds for years now but have only had to have them tweaked once. I'm SO hoping that's the issue now.

Granny Annie-Thank you! I appreciate the prayers it's all I know to do for them now. Glad I could give you a smile!

I remember Jennybabe from a while back before she took her blog down and I'll be thinking of her of her family. It kinda leaves my medical woes in the shade.

Speaking of thyroid things, my mother-in-law who is a hearing therapist had a patient telling her about her high metal bosom. Turned out she meant high metabolism! Every time I think of thyroid I think of Madonna :-)
