TEST

I think I'm being tested. I placed an order for a memory card for our computer through Buy dot com. A week later I checked on it's status only to find that it was still "processing". Sunday night I get an email saying that THEY cancelled my order and that my money would be refunded. Great. I was going to give this as a gift. OK a lame gift to my hubby who's been wanting to upgrade the ole computer. SO I do some poking around and find that Walmart dot com also has these cards for a similar price. Cool. I order one. It ships RIGHT AWAY and I received it yesterday. Speedy huh? That was just a test of my patience.

Did I mention that on Monday I talked to my father in law who told me that he had just mailed the same memory card to my husband. It should be here any day. He said I should return the one I bought and get my money back. *sigh*

Well, like I said the box got here yesterday and guess what? The box had ten memory cards in it. TEN. I only ordered one. At 24.88 that would be a chunk of money. I will readily admit that I considered how I could benefit from this error. 224 dollars would be a nice shot in the arm now wouldn't it? YES. I returned them all. Yes I only got my 24.88 +tax back. Yes. I'm happy I did the right thing. So IF I'm so happy about doing the right thing, why do I have this nagging thing in my head saying,"you could have gotten away with it!" I know me, I know that if I had I'd have felt guilty about it. My hubby can attest to that. I just can't shake that "what if".

OH! Did I mention that Walmart dot com also sent me a copy of a book I ordered for my daughter......twice! Uh yeah. They both had my name on the shipping label but the invoice inside the second one was supposed to go to some woman in Arizona. Sorry lady in Arizona, your book is gonna be a little later than you planned. I'm torn. I'm not sure if I should just take the book to my Walmart and HOPE that they make sure she gets it. I know from experience that if she calls and says she didn't receive it they will ship another one. (It happened to me when we first moved here.) OR should I just take it to the post office and ship it to her myself. What would you do?

I'm glad that you didn't return all 10 of the memory cards, that would have been wrong...You would have made an enemy of your FIL, if he found out. Trust is more important!

About the book: I would call Walmart and ask them what you should do.

I hope you and your family have a great Christmas....

Wow...you are nice...you'd ship it to her yourself? Tells me what kind of person you are...I say...ship it you sweetheart.

Don't ship it to her yourself, no reason to waste time/energy like that. It's Walmart's mistake, and they'll fix it (eventually).

You are definitely being tested. I think you did the right thing, the thing you'd want your kids to know you did. Buy your husband something frivolous and let Walmart absorb the cost of their mistake.

To some unscrupulous people this post could create a run on Wal-Mart. Now let's see, I have eight grandchildren and if I order one gift from Wal-Mart I could end up taking care of all eight......
