Ups and downs

Man, you'd think now that CCB has a job I'd be able to relax. It just doesn't seem to be happening yet. We got our car back and as it turns out it was leaking gear fluid. We took it back to the shop and they guy tells us if we keep driving it and it runs out of fluid it could burn up our transmission. Could you imagine what would have happened if I didn't notice that spot on the driveway?!?! My husband could have been stranded 75 miles away with a trashed transmission! So what did they do for us? Well initially they were gonna get it in on MONDAY to fix it. That was not acceptable CCB had to be to work EARLY that morning in Lafayette. I'm really peeved at this point and ask if we are gonna be FORCED to rent another car. The guy at the desk says that there are some guys coming in on Saturday to work on their own projects and that he will have them fix it. It's supposed to take about an hour. It's the best we could get.

So the day drags by. I'm nervous as can be because they are asking me to trust them to get it done when it took them ages to finish it the first time and then it wasn't even right! Finally I get the call and pick the car up. It seems to be good. No leaks. I sure hope it is. CCB has a long drive tomorrow.

OH! We have company coming too. 3 boys and their parents. I sure don't know what to do if our agent calls and wants to show the house while they're here. I don't think I should tell them no but it sure won't be the best of situations. Usually I have meals planned and everything is taken care of before visitors come. Not this time. I'm just playing it by ear. I have dinner and breakfast planned. Everyone is gonna have to pitch in beyond that. Which is kinda freeing you know? That must be something this whole situation is teaching me. I can't control everything. Sometimes you just gotta throw up your hands and say I can't do it all. I need help.

Still waiting for that bonus money the old job promised to send Doug. We know the current employees don't have theirs either so we expect it any time now. It will sure be a relief. It's hard to watch that bank account balance go down and down without any thing being added to it.

The house was shown to one couple twice last week. I haven't heard anything since the last time they looked at it. Probably not a good sign . Oh well, if they don't LOVE it, I don't want them to buy it. I want someone to have it that will love it like I do. Is that weird? I don't know. It's just how I feel.

Wow. The title says ups and downs but it sounds like all I did was complain. I'll try to fix that. We're happy we get to see our family. I'm happy the car is in better shape than it was, no matter how long it took to get it ready. We have money coming it just isn't here yet. The house is still getting lots of interest whether anyone has put an offer in or not. *GRIN* There. That's better.

I like that last paragraph the best....I was going to say something if you had not put it in....now I feel better....lol.

CCB has a new job....the car is now working and you don't have a burnt out transmission.....people are at least looking at the house, that means that you at least, have curb appeal and that gets them in the front door....you are all well, no illnesses, you have a loving family that wants to come visit you---yes, it's going to be interesting, but with the Lords's help everything will go fine...If the realtor wants to show the house, straighten up quick and take the boys to the park.

You are going to do fine, just take some deep breaths and relax...I know, easier said than done.

As my mum used to say, if it's got tyres or testicles you're gonna have trouble :-)

Seriously, you're just in that place right now when the bad is just about to end and the good is about to start. Just keep focused on the good and you're gonna be OK, I just know it! I'm thinking of you x

I guess the part that troubled me most was the fact that you have company coming at such a time in your life. Who would think it is acceptable to visit a recently out-of-work, house-on-the-market family at such a time?

You know my daughter and her family are your parallel universe and her husband is already at the new job WITHOUT his family until the house sells and so far they have only had ONE looker!!!!
