My little guy is having some sort of issue. Last night he had blood in his urine. He didn't have any pain but I can't tell you how unnerving it was to see the blood knowing where it came from. My first thought was a urinary tract infection except he had no pain. I did some online searches and found that little ones can have it without the same symptoms adults have. He told me that his tummy hurt two times at school but that was it. He said he didn't fall or get kicked or punched so I had to go with my gut.
We took him to the urgent care clinic this morning and they were a little puzzled by the lack of pain. Of course there was no blood in his urine sample this morning but they sent it off to see if there was any infection. It takes two days for that test. We won't find out till Monday if he has a UTI. In the mean time we are treating it as if that's the problem. He's on an antibiotic.
He has been bouncy and perky all day. Sorta made me forget that there was any problem. Till he passed more blood. It sounds bad but I'm hoping it's an infection because we are already on it. If it's a kidney stone he's in for some pain. I shudder to think of how bad that will be for him.
Don't know if this makes any sense or if my grammar is correct. Just wanted to get it out.
UPDATE We got the test results back yesterday. Nothing showed up in his culture. The nurse said to continue giving him the antibiotics because sometimes infections don't show up.....Don't know whether I should be happy about that or not. I don't WANT him to have an infection but now I don't know WHY he was passing blood.....

Thinking of your little man, I dearly hope it all comes to nothing and is found to be "just one of those things". Give him a big cuddle from me xx
Just remember that the less frightening signs are more numerous than the blood in his urine. Oh how we hate our children to have illnesses! All prayers and good wishes headed his way.
Oh, I'm so sorry, that sounds so scary! I am not looking forward to the first time that Kai is sick, I will be a mess!
Sounds like you are on it with your little one. And be careful with the on-line searches...I find doing that makes me worry more b/c you always seem to look for/find the worst case scenario issues. I'm sure things are fine with your boy and he's just a little tough guy so that's why there's no pain. Keep us updated! I'm thinking about you guys...
Motherhood sure has its ups and downs. My son is 42, and I've had those very same Ohmigod! reactions to his illness this past month. I hope that your little one continues to have no pain until it gets cleared up.
I hope it's nothing & you can breathe again soon.
