Oh yeah. They went there.

So they refused to take my husbands resignation letter today. The man was offended that CCB checked up on his benefits and what he would and wouldn't be entitled to. The old boss said,"You wanted to make sure you got your unemployment. Now there's no question." Then he accused him of being disrespectful to one of his auditors. (The auditor in question gave CCB her cell number because she said she considered him a friend and wanted him to keep in touch. ) If she was disrespected why would she want to keep in touch? SO, CCB being the man that he is called her up and offered his apology. She said she hadn't been disrespected or hadn't been insulted in any way. I know this because I could hear her yelling through our phone. She was livid.

LATER the old boss called us at home. He thanked CCB for apologizing. ??????????? He said he had read his resignation and continued on to tell CCB that it didn't go down that way because of the conversation about benefits. ???????? In my humble opinion I think they are just trying to justify firing him. I think the old boss took it personal that we were covering our bases instead of trusting him. He told CCB that he had never been in our position....So how could he possibly resent us for taking care of our own. Up till that point I still thought of him as a decent man. He just made it easier not to look back.

On the upside we got another head hunter who's talking a pretty sweet deal. No official offer yet but it is one of the better spiels we've heard.
